I’m looking to purchase my first Ferrari and have decided on the 2014 California. The 2013/14 seem to give me the best value for the money. However, I have a hard time finding the market value on these cars as there seems to be a big range based on mileage and options. Can anyone give me insight on what a fair price would be for a 2014 Cali with 26k miles? The car history is clean with no accidents and was always serviced by a Ferrari dealership. The brakes were recently replaced as well. Any insight on fair market price would be much appreciated.

Seem to be asking about 100 - 110 K for '14s on cars.com with near that mileage, so that should put you in the ball park.

One thing, I'm not sure if all 2014s are Gen 1 or the so-called Cali 30, which was 30 more hp and 30 less kg. Think you can tell from the VIN.

Thanks for the info Tom. That was about the same range I saw as well on CarGurus from 100-118k. The 6 Digit VIN is a “T” which designates it as a Cali 30. I would think there would be some collector appeal since the 30’s had a lower production number. Seems like people are having a hard time selling the California.

Wholesale value on that car is 90-95,000 based on recent trade and Manheim values. You may find Cali 30 certified at a dealer in the 110-120,000 range. Certification with the two year limited warranty at that price may be well worthwhile. 2014 Cali is a lovely machine.

    Lawteam,

Thanks for info. My only concern is the rate of depreciation. I know this happens with a lot of cars but the Maserati capitulated depreciation is disgusting. I know this is a Ferrari but there seems to be a good reserve of Calis available.

I certainly understand the concern. the answer really requires a crystal ball, but that said, it seems that buying into a Ferrari at this stage of the depreciation curve is a lot better than a Mercedes or similar car at the same price. Just my thoughts, but I don't see more than a 20,000 drop over two years on a Cali. Of course I could be totally wrong, but like any car, if you really want it go enjoy driving it. I traded the Cali for a 599 and have already put 3500 miles in just two months. Good luck in your search.

I'm curious to know, did you pull the trigger and get one? I hunted for 11 months and finally got my 2014 California 30 at the end of September 2020. And yeah, I absolutely adore it.

I bought mine in Canada, so I think in US Dollars it works out to be about $110,000usd and it's a 2014 California 30 with only 16,000 miles.

Options are similar to what you described

We owned a Plus 30 California for 4 years. 2 under the factory warranty, and bought 2 more years on our own for $4,900 per year. During our 4 years of ownership we had at least one folding top event a year, and sometimes more. It got hung up once with the trunk lid totally open, and they had to bring in an enclosed trailer to get it to the dealer. Several other times it was small gremlins that stopped the top at some point.

It would be my worry if buying a Cali again. Loved everything about the car but that.

the fact that it appears a cousin to the Maser doesn't help anything.
