It might be a silly question, but I hope you don't mind ;) No side windows allowed in GT-class?

According to Dario, Chip is going to put JPM in the #01. Not something I would do to a car that's gone 600 laps.

Well the 01 car is going to have to break to lose. So maybe Juan the man to do it.

after that last caution, top 5 in DP are on the same lap, top 6 in GT on the same lap.

69 Ferrari and 44 Porsche within one second of eachother, amazing after 20 hours of racing.

I'll say. I think Wayne should probably take a nap before suggesting that Ganassi was pulling the Piquet Jr/Flavio card.

He looked a little paranoid once the 02 car was relegated to the garage for the rest of the race.

Gotta love endurance racing. Like Varsha (?) said, it's like running a triathlon but needing an all-out sprint over the final 400 meters to win/place.

Implementing the NASCAR reach around rule on yellows is really going to tighten up the field. On one hand it softens the " endurance " factor and gives a chance for those that have failed to catch up to those that haven't. On the other hand it makes the entire race interesting to watch and will lead to an exciting finish and that is what will sell tickets for next year.

Here's a few more from yesterday.

Was that white smoke coming out of the 10 car??? :(

It already looks like a load to handle. They don't need any more problems or Wayne Taylor's head will explode.

Pruett seemed a little over animated than usual. Almost drugged.

This is getting good. Top-4 within 5 secs of each other, 3-wide racing in GT (including spinners in the corners), brilliant tire-to-tire racing.

I don't think I agree with that avoidable contact call on Barbosa...

I'm not fully sold on this for the reasons you mentioned. It does make the race quite interesting right now with so many cars battling but it's a fabricated result.

That's the first thing that came to my mind as well. I'd have to see the replay again but it looked like AJ dove to deep and he is the one who deserved the penalty.

    tether on the fuel man?

When the black and orange Vette just fueled, there was a dog leash type tether attached to the fuel man with a guy on the cold side of the wall who was tugging on it... is that the signal that the guy should stop fueling? or was it a grounding strap?

Ferrari lucks into 3rd with Winkelhock running out of gas on the final lap to break up the Audi sweep in GT.

Ferrari seems to have better top-end speed, but Audi was better on fuel AND the handling was just on another level.

They were timing him. Just enough to finish, give him a tug.

Anyone else lose the timing feed just ahead of the finish? :(

I watched a little last night and the finish this am. I now have *more* questions than I did before!...... I'll let the "euphoria" die down and start asking. ;)

    Cheers,
    Ian
