race is just over a month away! can't wait. the test session "Roar Before the 24" is a few weeks out. entry lists are slowly forming up, GT looks pretty epic with a serious Audi presence, some old Porsche drivers in new Porsche teams (Park Place gets Pat Long!), and my personal favorite entry, Clint Bowyer and Michael Waltrip in a 458. maybe they'll be sponsored by that show "Moonshiners" Roar Before the 24 entries: http://www.grand-am.com/scheduleResults/entrylist/1/EntryListDetail.aspx?eid=3497&sid=1 Daytona 24 entries: http://www.grand-am.com/scheduleResults/entrylist/1/EntryListDetail.aspx?eid=3463&sid=1
I see Alex Job Racing is listed as entering a GT3. I thought they had switched to the Lotus Evora. Or am I getting confused with ALMS?
AJR is running a Porsche AND an Audi in the Daytona 24 (and maybe full season in GA), and will likely (pending some sponsorship stuff) be running the Evora in ALMS GT as well, along with a Porsche in ALMS GTC. they'll be busy this year!
I can hear Mikey now..."Y'all be sure to tune in to the 5 Hour Energy Moonshiners Marathon on your Aaron's TV...Tickle goes to NAPA."
Utah local 17-year old Madison Snow will be driving in the Rolex 24 this year. It will be fun to see how he does. I believe this will be his longest race he's participated in so far.
entry list has his mom (Melanie Snow) as well, that's really cool. will Martin be coming out of retirement? any idea on who the rest of the lineup will be?
What a timely post Right now I'm compiling my pictures from past Rolex 24 races and I'm going to attempt to make a hard bound photo book using Shutterfly. I'm going to bring it with me to the Roar and the 24 and try and get autographs relevant to the pictures. I was just about to search for a list of driver and team entries when I saw this thread. It may be too big and complicated of a project to get done in time but I'll see how it goes. Creating a pool of pictures to choose from will be easy. The layout of the pages using the Shutterfly templates will take some thought. My biggest concern is writing captions that are factually correct and matching drivers to their cars. I don't want a picture of Scott Pruett on one page suitable for signing and on the other page have a nice picture of the #01 car only to find out its Montoya driving
We hope to be there in 2014 with a DP and a GT entry. If that happens we'll be bringing two great manufactures back into racing.
Whoa!..... *Two* manufacturers!? Understand that you probably can't say too much more right now, but thanks for the "teaser".... You're still running P4/5CM at the 'Ring next year too, right? I want to have Jim's babies! Cheers, Ian
P4/5CM is coming home to roam the roads. If a P1/918/F70 shows up to race we'd consider going back to the Ring. Image Unavailable, Please Login
back to cars actually running in the 2013 race..... did anyone notice MazdaSpeed's lineup in their diesel Mazda6 GX car? Jonathan Bommarito James Hinchcliffe Marino Franchitti Sylvain Tremblay looks like Mazda really wants to win GX with that car....
I assume the old car that they ran last year (the flying banana as I call it) the Viper ALMS car is done by Riley and is proprietary (and would require a lot to convert to GA specs), and I don't know if they could get a road car converted in time. but who knows. Image Unavailable, Please Login

I'm not sure Melanie is going to race, she is still rightfully shaken from her Road America accident. And I love watching Martin drive, such a beast! I'm 95% sure he is not racing though
the RA accident was what, 4 or 5 months ago? I think she would have figured out by now if she's going to continue racing, and stayed off the entry list if she wasn't. and yes that was a huge hit. RA wrote off 3 or 4 cup cars this year (including a client's; he suffered a broken back).
Looks like she is racing it now, or at least the test race. The driver line up is 3 factory drivers and Madison and Melanie
Does anyone know who will be driving for Michael Shank Racing and Starworks Motorsports? The list in the first post is still incomplete.
Pew and Negri have been confirmed for MSR; not sure who else. Dinger is doing the test but not sure if he's confirmed for the race. http://auto-racing.speedtv.com/article/grand-am-negri-pew-return-to-msr-for-2013/ can't find anything concrete on Starworks. probably a group of gentlemen drivers? their A-Team is in the #2.
