I got some therapy in today, with the roads being clean, and light traffic. Oh how I missed it. Now it's snowing again. Merry Christmas!
Phil Congratulations on the impending delivery of your new machine! Anxious to see her. Jay Congratulations on seven years of FCar stewardship. Agree Ferraris have opened the door to many unique and wonderful friendships and memories. Happy 2014 !!! - Ed -
F12 has been slower than expected. It did arrive at JFK on Saturday, but the trucker was slow to arrange the transfer to FNE. Probably due to his holiday schedule. As of this afternoon, he commited to having it to FNE by around noon tomorrow, and if so I'll take a ride out to see it offloaded. FNE is saying 1-3 days for prep and paperwork, so it looks like just before New Years. If I can get some pics tomorrow I'll post them. See you all the first clear Sunday......
That is awesome Phil. I can't wait to see the pics. If you need room in the garage I know someone who will be willing to take the TR off your hands for a reasonable sum of cash.
Cell phone pics of the F12. It was delivered to FNE today. Should have some formal pics soon. Looks fantastic in person! Better than I expected. One minor glitch... a small dent on the driver's door edge. It will probably go back to the Ferrari body shop in Jersey for repair next week. That is gorgeous Phil! Sad that for such a car they can't get it here from Italy in perfect condition...but I wouldn't lose any sleep over that, especially since I'm sure you'll be driving her in winter anyway
Phil, She's a beauty. What shade of red is she finished in? That is not a small dent in the door. It is actually Ferrari's newest aerodynamic aide. I thought this aide was still in the development stage. You are probably the very first customer to have this on a production car. There is normally a big upgrade charge for this option. I guess the good news is that with winter closing in the shop will have plenty of time to correct it properly. Congrats !!! - Ed -
The color is Rossa Corsa. As are the calipers and door panel accent stripe. The shop lighting at FNE makes it look darker. The interior is all black leather including headliner, with carbon fiber steering wheel and driver zone, dashboard inserts, central tunnel and cup holder. Seats have the wide white stitching and white horse, and the white rev. counter. Outside is the new style polished wheels, with chrome tipped grille and polished exhaust tips Also stone chip coating. Daytona electric seats and electric steering column. Front and rear cameras and parking sensors. And also another $15k worth of "additional options". Total MSRP came in at $387. To that, add gas guzzler and sales tax, so it will total just over $400. But once you look at it's exactly what I wanted. Hope to share it with you guys soon.
Why do we keep getting nice Saturday's and crappy Sunday's so we can't get the fun cars out for our weekly cars and coffee? It was actually nice enough today and roads were clear that I was able to get the Porsche out for a little mental therapy... I needed that.
I plan on getting out. It might be F car weather. Phil your car is fantastic. I'm really happy for you.
