I have a local buddy who sold his 458 Spider and bought an Aventador. He now tells me he wished he would have kept the 458.
I wanted to ask why your friend chose to sell his 458 and go with the Lambo, and why he wished he had not . Just curiosity .
Hi, not sure about the 458, however my buddy had sold his 488 and bought an Aventador (liked the look better), however he also said he preferred driving his old 488 better, because it has a dual clutch. The Lambo has a single clutch and my buddy said it was more jerky (not as smooth shifting] especially when driving in slower traffic.
Frankly, even if ave is a v12 or higher league, I wouldn't sell my 458/88 and buy an aventador. Yes, it can be a very good car, but in my opinion, it has a very ambitious design, it's like a statue and it feels like it's there just to be watched. Also, the car's usage area is very limited, it doesn't like city traffic and daily life at all. However, the 458 and 488 are cars that can offer you both while keeping money in your pocket. Moreover, even if it's not the 458, the 488's performance is generally close to the ave.
Interested Can you please share the VIN? And, do you have a CarFax report? Was this car subject to the gearbox issues of early 458's? Thanks,
The gear box issues only affected the 2010, 2011 and some early 2012 458s. I did not get a recent carfax but here is the vin: ZFF67NFA9D0189354
Totally different feel between them on the road. I had an 18 Aventador S. Brutal in its inputs. Exciting, but no where near the level cohesiveness as my F12 or other Fcars I have owned. They feel lite and smooth for the most part. The Aventador was hugely exciting when giving it beans, but exhausting, super impractical and too attention grabbing for me. Had to make a choice. Cheers.
