-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For those of you who are within driving distance of Fort Wayne,Indiana (That means EVERYONE in this section!!!) be sure to mark down Sept. 23,24, 25 2011. These are the dates of the 2nd Annual Ferraris and Friends weekend. If you missed it last year, you missed one heck of an event. Take a look at the video below: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ps4FE...embedded#at=11 The details of the event can be found at: www.ferrarisandfriends.com This year we will be featuring cars manufactured in the State of Indiana. We already have a few Duesenbergs, Auburns, Cords and Stutz' committed. Last year we put 105 cars on the fairway. Our goal this year is 150! Let's see how many FChatters we can get to Fort Wayne in September! JIM
it was a great show last year, I'm planning on attending again. Make sure to email me the info so I can send it to Ken as early as possible
This is something I heard about but missed last year. Is this an event you can attend even if you don't have a Ferrari or any other show car? Chris
Absolutely! You'll need to register at: www.ferrarisandfriends.com 100% of the registration fees go directly to charity, which is "Kops 4 Kids" this year. JIM
I've noticed quite a bit of increased activity in this region over the past year to 18 months. Ferraris and Friends would be a GREAT destination event for guys in the N. Central Region!!! Who wants to plan a road trip? CALLING ALL CARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! JIM www.ferrarisandfriends.com
One of the featured cars: The Auburn Cord Duesenberg Auto Museum will be loaning a 1932 Duesenberg J-476! One of five short wheelbase Torpedo Convertible Coupe bodies built by Murphy. Notable in the design is the Murphy hallmark, disappearing convertible top and the bare aluminum top of the body. The Duesenberg Model J engine is a modified Lycoming straight eight, featuring dual overhead cams and four valves per cylinder. With a displacement of 420 cubic-inches, this engine produces 265-horsepower. The Model J chassis alone cost $8,500. This vehicle cost $15,000 new.
So where are all the North Central guys on this event? COME ON GUYS! This is an amazing event right in your back yard!!!!! JIM
This was a great event last year and very well organized. I have a conflict this time and can't make it, but I highly recommend the event for anyone within driving distance. Hi Jim, As much as we enjoyed F&F last year we have decided to head down to RA for the runoffs this year. wishing you another succesful event, Tom & Joni
Tom, if I had known you were down there, I would've made a point of saying "hi" Enjoy the race Oh, and be sure to message me if you are ever down with the trolls of SE Michigan I may be headed your way for the LSPR this year.
I'm not sure I will make it as my son will be home briefly before getting his next all expense paid trip to the sandlot. I'll see if he would like to go but I'm sure he has a lot of people to see in a very short time before heading back to NC.
Yes Brian I totally understand that....absolutely family first. I wish your son all the best over there in that oversized litter box. We will miss your wit and wisdom regarding these cars...
I'll be returning from a business trip late Friday so I might take a ride up on Saturday. I really, really hate to miss this again!
Really should go Bill, a unique event. Plus more miles on your rides means closer to needing a visit to the Eurocardoc! Be safe, Brian
