I did get to take the 430 out on Monday and it was a near 'religious' experience. I haven't felt a smile on my face like that for a little while.

I don't know about you guys, but where I am, I am a little disappointed in the snowfall thus far. It better pick it up a notch! 1" over 5 hours, give me a break.

Nice! Now you need to get some heat in that garage to help her thaw out.

So here is my winter break project... while I should be working on the TR, I have been side tracked with trying to souce parts for my son's Jeep Hurricane from Mattel. Apparently the gearbox designers at Mattel got advice from the same folks that designed the transaxle on the early Testarossa's... they both self destruct and parts are tough to source. I had to hit the "black market" to get them :D

You got check the ring nuts are staked, lol. Going to expensive I bet, lol. While you in there replace the triple seals and check the throwout. Send it to Lanes guy, does good work. Should be around $10K I think :D

Joe, I did this a year or so ago. There is a repair shop in Enfield, Great prices. They will replace the part, and not, sell it out right. I'll see if I can find the paper work and get dealers name for you. Its a R/C race shop for cars, planes, boats, models, ect...located in a small shopping plaza, around the back. I had to bring the whole jeep, the repair took about 15 min.

    JEEP REPAIR SHOP
    R/C Madness Track and Hobby
    640 Enfield St.
    860-741-6501

Our's broke because the older cousins got ahold of it and kept jamming it from forward to reverse and back....Are you sure you you didn't take it for a spin?:)

Would this be the weekend we can all get together in Glast. then leave early for a Holiday/ Party/ Lunch.

Its cold- noone will be outside long, roads are SH**ty- no cars so we won't have to worry about cars unattended, and most important...still in the F-ing Holiday Spirt!:)

I actually spoke to them. They wanted me to bring the Jeep there, but have no way to do that. I found a place that rebuilds them and uses upgraded (stronger) parts. For $100 I got 2 new gearboxes and motors. Thanks for passing the info along though... much appreciated.

I seriously considered that, but the TR looked so peaceful up there on the top bunk, and it was just too much effort for a photo op.

I was thinking more along the lines of adding the motor that was in the Power Wheels from the link that Lane posted.

I probably won't be able to make it this weekend. We are in the final stages of finishing the basement and need to have all electical, plumbing, & HVAC ready for a townwhip inspection early next week. Then all we need to do is install the remaining ceiling tiles, lay the carpet, and do some touch up painting. I can't wait... the wallet needs a break.

Chirp- chirp-chirp everyone still alive? Hope you all had good holidays.
Counting down the days until the snow melts, I have about 4 feet in the front of my house after pulling some snow off the roof last week.
