Everyone, I've just made a long post in a new thread that includes the 2009 schedule. I'll try to get it made a "sticky".

I go to college in the Raleigh area and would love to meet some FChatters some time. Been on FerrariChat for long enough now and around the Ferrari community to have learned its a very nice event when owners, non-owners, and enthusiasts can come together and chat up the passion... Anything in Durham would be a blast as well as Raleigh.

Now, my humble Jetta will be promptly parked out of view for the YouTube shorts to follow any get-together, however a cup of coffee or lunch with a bunch of you guys would be awsome.

If you're ever in the Charlotte area, let me know. We can always plan a last minute get-together for lunch and a drive... and don't worry about the Jetta, truthfully, all of us have Jettas as our daily drivers. Just ask Juan Manuel Fantango! One of us even drives a Focus! Can you believe that, a Focus! But then again, he's a Lotus guy.

If you have not noticed already for more than a year now there is a gathering often the first Saturday of each month at Brier Creek. A notice is posted here and usually in the N&O. Come on out!

Would anyone be interested in a slightly abbreviated version of last years ill-attended rally in Lynchburg? We could set up a room for dinner at Shoemakers again and stay in the Craddock-Terry, go on a drive in the am and call it a day. It would be a lot of fun, and easy to set up...?

I would. Its a little far to bring the 328, but it'd still be fun if only to meet everyone finally. How about we come in my wife's Vette instead?? :)

I am thinking about the weekend of May 23-34? Or June 28-29, which is two weeks after the Asheville run. The summer is booking up fast!

Tell me about it. Its only late January and I'm amazed how jammed we're getting already. I gotta get a life. Anway, May would be better for us.

Yes, some of us drive a Focus, lol it keeps me humble and reminds me of how great the Lotus is every time I drive it. It is nice to have the toy for nice days and events but there is also something to be said for a car that you don't have to worry about. You can park it anywhere and if someone dings it or scratches it you don't care.

Come one, Chasnoff... shouldn't you be on the Lotus board or something? :)
But then again, I don't have a Ferrari or Focus... for now...

May 23-24 will not work, just realized that is memorial day, and I am on call. So...

June 27-28. I am going to check with Bill Ebert of the Mid-Atlantic section (my actual home) and see what they have going then. I will report back.

I can definitely make the June event...but probably will bring a new ride up, as the bicycle won't travel in the GT! And no Daniel...it will not be silver or gray.

Dude, you cannot come to a rally and not bring the GT, unless you are bringing the better half. Bikes can be provided. Have you lost your mind?

June for me would be better, Lotus drive the weekend after the proposed March date.

    Either way I can attend.

But what if it has paddle shifters? DCT?

A canoe with paddles -- even if its grey -- does not count.

(J - is the date firm? I want to go ahead and book at Craddock Terry... )

But this one will be blue...it was hard...I default to gray/silver by nature...try to be less conspicuous.....not sure it works anyway. Ha.

    NO.

FIRM DATE: Rally in Lynchburg, VA

JUNE 27-28, so make those reservations for the night of June 27:
    http://www.craddockterryhotel.com/

Please RSVP so that I know how many for dinner, I'll get a private room:
    [email protected]

    Dinner here on the 27th:
    http://www.shoemakersdining.com/

And then a fun drive on Sunday am. We can make other plans as things unfold. There is no F1 race that weekend. It can be a bit of a flip off for Bernie, who shafted me on my Montreal trip.

    Fantastic!
