I wondered that as well. Perhaps its in light of being very low 6,500 miles. Not to nitpick someones ad, but this one is short on details. White with red is a nice look and rare I believe.
The car has 6500 miles and smg. white and indy red. The price is in line with others selling low mileage m5 v10 cars. This car is like new....but only good for the person who is looking for the perfect car , not a beat car.
Impossible for it to be perfect with that SMG gearbox... I bought one of these new in 06 - smg car also. Kept it til last year. I got out for under $10k. Wishing you better luck - but from my experience, no one wants these at this point without the manual box.
I’m sure he means “perfect” as in new car shape and the condition of the car. Not the way you are stating your “opinion” that the car is not perfect in your eyes because of the SMG. Saying NO ONE wants one of these simply can not be the case. OP. Beautiful example. GLWS.
Correct rosta...perfect for the person who wants a car like this...these cars get a bad wrap. But what they bring to the table is a lot. Not to many cars out there that give what these cars can give. I figured to put on to see if get anybody interest if not it's ok.
2006 cars are not the best example to compare to 2008 cars, especially AW/Red. Lots of improvements to the s85 happened in 2008, and this car is like new. I wouldn't expect it to be cheap.
Bad "Wrap" or Bad Rap? That is the question.... some of the Wraps I see I pretty good from a distance but up close not so much. JK Nice Car, GLWS!
You are welcome. I remember driving similarly equipped car while visiting Texas back in the day. Great sounds.
While manual cars are a big draw for enthusiasts, the manual version of this model was not well liked. This is a car for people who remember that it was inspired by the V10 F1 cars of the same era and was designed around this configuration. And this is a perfect place to list it - this is a great car for a discriminating buyer, not one to be traded in at a dealer for chump change. GLWS!
Bring A Trailer may be best place for this. I had an e60 as well and remember trying to sell it was painful.
im a manual gearbox kind of a fan in most cars of this racing based heritage, and have owned lots of bmw's, including M-cars, but the real BMW M enthusiasts and M experts that know a lot more than i do, say the SMG on this particular car V10 (E60) is the way it was designed to be driven at its limits, and if an owner takes the time to learn SMG idiosynchs, then its simpatico all the way. this car is stunning.
Yeah, that hurts. I went through the same thing with my Boxster S that I had. It was in amazing shape (never saw a drop of rain, still smelled new and had under 7,000 miles also). Unfortunately depreciation is brutal, and I lost my shirt on it. The dealer offered you that amount because clean retail with those miles comes out to about $21,300, so the dealer needs room to take a little risk, and to make a profit. It's just business, you can't take it personally. I am the type that can appreciate paying a premium for a premium car, but I think I am only comfortable at about 25% more than "High Retail". I this case it's about $26,500. I know its well below what you are asking for it, but if you decide to sell at that level, please PM me. But to be honest, and having lost a lot of money over the years on cars, I would keep it if I were you. Like you said, maybe just give it to a family member.
Gentlemen I’m not in need to sell just needed space...since i want to add a car ...like a f12....lol I wanted to sell this car and very mint manual v10 r8 spyder that i have. That way i have more space and bring some toy money back into the mix to buy a F12....No rush will make it happen Sooner or later. But yes the SMG works well with this car when you master it.
