Well, I am getting discouraged with the available F430s for sale out there with 6-speed manual gearbox setups and I am starting to look at ordering a new Lamborghini Gallardo 560-4 with a 6-speed manual gearbox. Anyone out there with any experience with both cars? I am an old school 3 pedal guy, so I wont even consider paddles as an option. It has to be an old fashioned gated 6-speed gearbox for me! Please share your thoughts

Both me and my brother have the F430 3 pedals and Scuderia... I still prefer the 3 pedals F430 over my brother's Scuderia... He likes both the same in different ways... I had not driven Lambos, but did drove the Audi R8 3 pedals 4.2 V8... Shift was nice too... little less power, but still a wonderful car to drive...

Not a compromise at all... 3 pedal is definatly the way to go as far as enjoyment wise... Let's leave playstation for the kids!!!

Also, I am looking for a relatively low mileage F430, under 5000 miles that hasn't been beaten to heck. There just aren't many out there. I have seen the two on ebay too. Who wants a grigio with tan seats and a blue top? It is a sick combination...Colorblind? Yes, the dealer who ordered that car in that sick combination should be ashamed of him/her self! Come on...

My wife and I have driven both and as a result she now owns a pristine F430 coupe bought last January with 5K miles on it. The box is wonderful. When she lets me drive it, I think that at times I am shifting as fast as the F1. Probably not but it is really good.

    Keep looking.

I owned a F430 6 speed , sold the car this year and bought the Scuderia. I loved the 6 speed Ferrari but don't miss it one bit after the Scuderia Purchase. For my 6 speed fix i am getting a Lotus Exige next year.

I have driven the LP 560-4 and my 430 6 speed back to back. The Ferrari still felt better and more visceral even though it was a generation older. Lambo felt lot faster but the AWD and Steering feel, gearbox ...overall made it feel lazy , whereas the F430 6 speed felt alive.
The E gear system on the 560-4 is vastly improved , don't know how a 6 speed would feel in that car. End of the day AWD kills it for me. Lightweight high revving RWD cars are always more fun.

If you must get a Lambo, get the 550-2, AWD Lambos feel as heavy as a truck.

I was about to chime in on this as well. Drove a 550-2 and 430 back-to-back this last weekend.....sorry, but the 550-2 was MUCH better in every respect. Not even close.

Now I need to get my mits on a Scud to try out.

No not colorblind here, you lacking in clearly communicating as to what you are looking for-
quite obvious. I was referring to the 2 coupes, one Red/Black, the other Black/Cream - both nice color combos, you never said you wanted a convertible.
Most people seriously looking for a certain car would note that point, and the now required low mileage.....in posting up what you are frustrated in not finding.
Logical side effect of your post is to dig up leads on a car you want, someone here may have a buddy thinking of selling, and send him your way...seems elementary to state your exact criteria from the start.

You should list what you are willing to settle for.... stick 430 are hard to find and you may need to compromise on some "wants"...
While mileage and exact year, 2008 and now the 5000 miles is personal choice for you it severely limits your choices. If I was looking for a stick 430 (coupe for me) I would not pass up looking at 15,000 mile 05/06 cars.... But it is all personal choice.

    Hey ZCobra1,
I appreciate your post on the issue and you are right, I didn't post that I was looking for a spider, which I am. I also didn't reply to be a smart-arse, it was just my lack in articulation in writing which made it appear that way. I really do appreciate your comments and all others.
Also, I am open to all years of the F430 with a 6-speed manual gear box, but just prefer the 2008 and newer because they came stock with carbon ceramic brakes. As far as colors, I am actually really open to any colors or options as long as they make sense. I wasn't calling you colorblind, I was calling the owner of the car on ebay colorblind and holding the dealership accountable for not directing that poor guy into a nicer combination. Lets face it, silver outside, black interior...ALWAYS!!! It is a killer combination. Silver outside, tan seats with blue interior/dash and a blue soft top...NOT SO MUCH!!!
This is what I would love to have ideally:

F430 Spider 2008 or newer with less than 2500 miles in showroom condition...no accidents, no stories, no boogers. 6-Speed Manual gearbox is a must and the Soft Top must be Black!
    Color Combinations:
Red/tan, Red/Black, Silver/Black, Black/Tan, Black/Black, Dark Blue/Tan or Black, or any other combination that works!
I also prefer to have a car that has had a clear bra from new.
Anyone have a car like this to sell?

I think most of the 6 speed cars were 05 and 06. Fewer still spyders. I have seen an 06 spyder with a 6 speed. Have you driven one? The F1 works extremely well and I am a 6 speed guy. I don't know if any 08 spyders were even made with a 6 speed.

I think they did. A local owner has a 6 speed spider. It also has ceramics. Doesn't make it an instant 08-09, but I believe it is.

I'm nearly positive Lambo did away with their 3 pedal cars for 2013 MY.

No, you can still order a 2013 Gallardo with a 6 speed manual and it is standard, but no one orders them that way anymore. The e-gear is a $10K option.

Vf430 pretty much explained it...430 is a driver's car. I have thought about a Gallardo for a long time but in terms of visceral feedback, rawness, steering input, nimbleness and handling, I'd be disappointed in the Gallardo compared to the 430.
Driving a 430 is an engaging experience. Yes the Gallardo has more power and torque but the relative numbness would leave me a bit unenthused.
My disclaimer is: I am pretty biased towards Lotus, as I race in LotusCupUSA and if you really want a drivers car with NO electrical crutches than the Lotus is it.

drove 550-4 and 570-2 (i believe those are the model names) and they were nowhere near as fun as my F430 sorry and I drove it on them track! glad I got the Ferrari was considering both.

Great timing on this thread, as I'm looking to make my first super car purchase. Have been a lifelong Porsche fan/owner.

Am looking at the Scud and 550-2, and have given some thought to stretching the budget a bit to a used 458. Look forward to others insight.

    Thanks!

SCUD no question between that and Lambo. 458 of course if you can swing it.

I could swing a 458, but I think that I would miss the 6-speed gearbox too much like I did with my 2012 Porsche Turbo S Cabrio with paddles/PDK. Great car and ferociously fast, like nothing I have ever been in, but not that much fun to drive. I am looking for that fun factor and wanting to find a car that I wont get bored with a couple months later, like was the case with the Porsche.
