That, and he is comparing the F430 to it so it puts the LP640 out of the "logical" comparison.

The Gallardo has had problems since it came out. They breakdown left and right. Top Gear and Car & Driver had their comparison cars breakdown during testing. It's a Lambo, so don't expect reliability to be a trait.

Do you own one champ? I have had 2 and documented over 15,000 miles without so much as a brake squeal... Audi Q + C is great...

i was chatting with a guy last weekend that has a 07 gallardo spyder. said he loves it but has been having a lot of problems with the top. didn't go into specifics but said it was annoying enough that he's thinking about trading it for a hardtop. loved everything else about the car...

My Spyder screwed up last weekend, it let me get a sun burn; shouldn't it have a sunscreen reminder?

Here's a few tidbits. Both seem fairly reliable, but we've busted the exhaust brackets twice on the 430. So far, the Gallardo has been great, but the rear cooling fan noise is pretty loud. Just try to go through a Starbucks drive-thru in it and you almost can't order!

My wife would pick the Gallardo, since it's just more comfortable and cushy. Our F430 has the sport seats, so it's more stiff and racy.

The top on the 430 has temporarily failed a few times, causing us to stop and restart the car with a 3 minute pause to get it going again.

The Gallardo sucks to get to the engine, since you have to partially raise the top and squeeze under there to check the oil and such. Why they couldn't figure out how to simply raise the engine lid manually I'll never know.

Both fabulous, however. You really won't go wrong either way.

My spyder's have been awesome both Ferrari and Lambo....bulletproof on both cars for sure. You can't go wrong either way.

I had a 2004 Gallardo which was the first year and probably the most prone to problems.... I drove the living crap out of that car and I did not have one problem with it.
