Very nice machine. Always admired Strosek modifications, especially the headlights on the 996's. Where is the car located and how US and/or CA compliant is it?

The car is US compliant, but I haven't a clue about California. It is presently in New Jersey, but I'll be driving it back to Massachusetts in a week or so. The car is absolutely perfect. BTW, I agree that the Strosek 996 headlight treatment is special. Here's a closeup...

Still available, and the price is now reduced to $46,000. This always garaged car is in perfect "like new" condition throughout. The stunning interior looks like nobody has ever sat in it. Lots of PMs, but it's hard to believe it hasn't sold yet. Several have inquired about the new painted wheels, so here is a photo:

Do you have actual pictures of the car, rather than from a 15 year old magazine?

I do not know what magazine you are referencing, and I have provided specific detail photos to all who have requested them by PM. Except for the new wheels, the car, both interior and exterior, presently looks exactly as pristine as it does in the initial photos posted. Albeit very poor cell phone quality, here are a few photos showing what the car looks like with both its soft and hard tops in place, as well as a better closeup of one of the new painted 19 inch wheels on the car and a photo of the additional turbo boost gauge, oil pressure warning light and starter button that was added to the center console (btw, the custom embroidered Strosek carpet you see in the photo still looks like nobody has ever put a foot on it).

Just wondering why one picture shows the back of the car without two large air vents and another pictures with them. Is there any chance the engine could have over heated?

To my knowledge the car has never had a single mechanical issue. It belonged to my brother who recently passed away. He was the exclusive North American Distributor for Strosek.

If you're talking about the photo with the lid open, the vents are not visible because they're perfectly perpendicular to the camera.

    This is one awesome 996!

Very sorry to hear about the loss of your brother, I lost my older brother in July, and it hurts. How long was your brother the distributor for Strosek, and it would be interesting to know how he came to have that position? Any idea how many of the Strosek Porsches he sold? The loss of a family member really puts a long of things in perspective, about what is really important. Thanks

Thank you for your kind words, and you are absolutely correct that the loss of a brother puts many things into a totally different perspective. I'm sorry for your loss. My brother owned a new car dealership (Mercedes, Porsche, BMW), and he also owned very successful racing teams. I believe he first came into contact with Strosek's founder when my brother was the team manager for a German Formula 1 team. He was the exclusive North American Strosek Distributor for the past 25 years. I have no idea how many Stroseks he sold in that period, but suffice it to say that as the sole Strosek distributor he sold many. The Strosek parts business was also very active.

I have now figured out your confusion. The car without the rear openings depicted in the photo in the initial link you posted was, as I noted, a 2003 non-turbo 996 that the dealership had sold, and not the 996 turbo I have listed. You will also note it does not have the air ducts in the rear fenders. The second link is indeed for the listed car. For some reason, unknown to me, when the autotrader ad was prepared a photo of the rear of the sold 2003 996 non-turbo was somehow included by whomever prepared the ad. I found a complete set of photos for that car in the "sold" Strosek section on the dealership's website, and obviously someone erroneously copied and pasted that photo into the autotrader listing. All of the photos I have posted are for the correct car, which is in my garage.

Sorry Brian, I had an extensive file on your Strosek 911, including a ton of photos, build sheet, mods list, a comprehensive inspection video, invoices, etc., but I deleted it shortly after the car was sold. To this day I regret not keeping the Strosek, however I had too many cars and not enough garage space. I had the car for about six months and throughly enjoyed driving it. The car was certainly a head turner, and a true unicorn in the Porsche world. When I had the car it looked like it had just rolled off the assembly line, hopefully your prior owner kept it that way as well. Good luck with your very special Strosek. Here's to many happy miles!

We sure love it too. It is the reason i am selling our new targa gts and our carerra 4s. It is that special. If you can find and way to locate any information or if you can point this beagle toward the scent, I would certainly appreciate it. We bought it from Tom Wood Porsche here in Indy for only $25.5k. They had no idea what they had. Many thanks, Brian 317 771 9294
