GT or CC? Biggest issue with the car is the F1 Pump and Rely overheating.

As for insurance, too many variables. But its cheaper to insure my 575 as a daily driver then it was for my CC (USAA).

I have a 2002 Coupe CC and love the car. Yes, I did have to replace the F1 clutch and relay recently but I knew about the potential issues before purchasing. The dealer will warranty the parts/service replacement for a year. As for insurance, this is my second car and I pay about $550/yr through USAA.

I would like to go with the GT as I have heard of issues with the CC. What does schedule maintenance run about and what are the major services? This will be a daily driver probably 8-10,000 a year.

'Issues' with the F1 tranny are over blown. Do some research and you'll see that the frequency is not that bad. You simply hear about the problems more often. Clutch wear seems to be around 20K-30K miles before replacement, so probably more frequent than the GT but not horrible. Keep it in Sport mode, buy a 2004 with the CC software update, or buy an earlier year that has been updated and you'll increase your life a bit.

Service intervals and required maintenance are nothing strange. Book says oil every 12.5K miles. Air filters and pollen filters along the way. Easily done by yourself but if you go to a dealer you will end up paying a lot. For example, the 18.5K mile service which is oil, air filter, pollen filter, and lots of inspections will end up costing you about $1K at a dealer. Of course you won't have to go back in again until 30K.

The 2004 model received software and suspension changes (and a cupholder!). You might look into that if your budget allows.

So USAA will insure you 2002 Coupe? Farmers, State Farm, AAA won't even talk to me so I went with Haggerty. Is your policy Full Coverage or just Liability?

I have full coverage with State Farm. Why wouldn't they cover you?

I have full coverage from USAA. Had no issues with my Maser or any of my Ferraris with USAA.

I bought my CC new in 04. Daily drove it 25000 miles over three years. I went through 3 relays and 1 f1 pump. They were all warranty but would have been around $2k, so really not that bad.

Service on the Maser is very comparable to Jaguar. There really are no Major services like on a Ferrari but the 15k was like ~$1500.

Overall a great car, good value used, and I would buy one again.

Basically, stop talking start driving :)

Im thinking about it i may wait a year to get into a 2004. Used to have an XJR never was too much trouble, but it was in warranty. The warranty I have on my 2002 S4 is real good it even came with an option to cover all maintenance, but i didnt buy that. My 2005 is almost out so i maybe trading it in. Ill have to call them up and see what they say for coverage on a coupe GT.

So I had State Farm, for 22 years, never had an accident and when I called to insure my Maserati, they told me they didn't even have an option to insure such a car... So I then went to AAA, they don't even have a listing is what the agent told me, so then I went to Farmers, the agent told me they don't insure such cars.. So then I went to Haggerty... It's $712.00 for full coverage for a year with them. I am thinking about trying leland west insurance this year, they are cheaper and same coverage.... I know they base their rates on your credit rating, mine is good, so I have no idea why my State Farm agent and others weren't interested in insuring my car..

I has similar issues with my insurance company. (this even goes back to my Biturbo/QP III days in the mid-80's).

Now I use Grundy to insure my toys. Quite reasonable full coverage premiums and no vehicle age or mileage restrictions on the cars.
I have used Parish-Heacock in the past when I was housing 6 cars, but they only allow 3000 miles a year per vehicle.

I had the same problem, couldn't insure the Maserati, though they had no problem with Ferrari's and I had been with them for 10+ years. I tried to convince our local rep in several phone calls without success, then I decided to try calling their 800 number to get randomly assigned to someone else. The person that the 800 number routed to added the Maserati with no questions. I suggest giving this method a try if anyone is stuck.
