Five 330 GTC's were sold in Monterey: 11113 $682,000 Gooding #109 9659 $687,500 Gooding #48 10937 $825,000 RM #116 10007 $1,017,500 Bonhams #274 10267 $1,023,000 RM #234 Were these last two the first GTC's to break into the million dollar range?
Quite a spread in final sales price. Commensurate with condition and provenance no doubt. Did anyone eyeball any of these and able to comment on condition and details? Thanks - Brian
Hahaha! NOT disclosed at all. NOT restamped by "Classiche". Restamped privately. And kept totally quiet. I find it amazing that in 2014 people still don't do their homework. Marcel Massini
Ferrari Classiche will not re-stamp an old block to match a car unless it is the correct block with correct internal number. They will return an over-stamped block to match its original number and internal number. Or you can buy a new block from them, again this will not re-stamped to match your car, it will be stamped in accordance with the sequence of new Classiche blocks made - the factory records will then note the new block against the chassis.
Brian: I looked at all the GTC's in Monterey. Most were average cars. A couple were pretty nice. None were spectacular.
2 went at almost exactly the same time. If you were at Gooding, you could watch the RM Feed while seeing the bidding live at Gooding. If memory serves, the RM car achieved $200,000+ more, and was hammered first.
If a restored 330GTC goes for over a $1 million. What is an all original factory paint and interior, never apart engine, runs & drives great, 18,000 mile car worth? Norbert
Paint is the original factory lacquer Nocciola Metallizzato with Tan leather. Color really comes to life in the sunlight. Norbert
Hah! awaiting opinions on this one since my Nocciola '68 has just 24K miles. Made the mistake of re-doing the seats, still kicking myself. Plenty of in-period little dents however
Fantasy Junction has one of only 20 produced 365GTS for sale. $4.5M takes it. Seems like these prices are the norm.......for now.
One of the 330 GTC that I saw at RM was just done by Patrick Ottis and Bryan Hoyt. It was SPECTACULAR and better than most all of the other GTC's that I saw anywhere. This was worth every penny paid--as there were three or four bidders at the $900K level Ken Goldman
