From my introductory comment on the auction:

Good afternoon everyone! Welcome to my auction for this amazing 550. As many of you know, I specialize in Ferraris such as these, and have bought and sold quite a few of them in my 12 years as a dealer. I have also judged many of them at major concours as an IAC/PFA judge.

The 550 is probably my favorite Ferrari of all time, and I know them well, having one in my personal collection for many years. And this particular 550 is one of the best I’ve ever had. From the moment you open the door, you get that unmistakeable 550 leather smell. No issues anywhere in the interior. AC blows ice cold. Everything works. No sticky parts. Everything just looks and feels right.

And it drives amazingly. Tight and solid. The engine pulls like a freight train, as it should. Steering is quick and precise. Brakes are solid. No pulling, tracks straight. I’ve had the car since last summer, and even in the hottest Houston weather, the coolant temp needle doesn’t go past half way, which is unusual for a 550.

It’s been serviced properly, as evidenced by the records. Known history since new. All accessories, books, tools, etc. are present, including the three key fobs which are usually not complete.

In short, this is a great 550, one that can be driven and enjoyed today, but will surely appreciate in value over the years as the last great gated manual V12 Ferrari. (Yes, I know there are gated 575s and even a handful of gated 599s, but I prefer the 550 to both of them personally, as do many.)

$210k I can't imagine a better price for the buyer.

This is definitely the cleanest 550 I have seen in a long, long time. Absolutely magnificent.
