Greetings All, I am selling one of my personal 355's - 1995 F355 Berlinetta, Rosso Corsa / Nero. This is a personal car and nothing to do with my business. Car is located in Orchard Park, New York (South of Buffalo) I currently own (3) 355's and I am a very passionate and enthusiastic owner and do all of my own work. My goal with this listing is to be fully transparent and describe the car accurately with full disclosure of any known issues. I think at the end of this listing, it will be apparent that I want a happy buyer and I'm laying out all details. The prior owner invested $44K in service prior to my ownership since 2012 (all Ferrari dealer service). I have spent the last 11 months addressing a bunch of minor cosmetic and a few mechanical issues to make the car right and do the justice it deserves, all outlined as follows: General: - Car originated at Miller Motorcars in CT - The car is still being driven (not frequently), so the miles are 30,XXX - Very early 355, believed to be the 15th 355 to come to North America (build date of July 1994) - The car is the only one I know of in NA to have the original large under tray that was changed to two pices very early on in production - VIN and service records provided to serious buyers - Majority of records since new included both electronically and in print (3 ring binder with sheet protectors) - Clear title in hand - Clear Carfax (no damage or accident history) - OEM Car cover, toolkit, all books and manuals in leather pouch, 2 keys, service light, all included - Capristo Sound 2 muffler and test pipes (depending where you live and your plans for the car, you may need to install catalytic converters) - Car is 100% original in appointments with exception to the test pipes, muffler, new floor mats and aftermarket stereo head unit. - Battery Tender included Service Summary prior to my ownership (major, important elements): - Multiple fluid changes, minor corrections, major services, wheel alignments, replacement of CV boots, etc. - all available with records to serious buyers - LH Exhaust manifold replaced with OEM 8/26/2003, 21266 miles - RH Exhaust manifold replaced with OEM 3/10/2009, 26111 miles - Cylinder Heads fully rebuilt, new intake and exhaust valves, valve guides, and valve seals. Manganese bronze guides installed. (10/11/2012, Savannah Race Engineering via Ferrari of Washington) - Extensive Major service which included the rebuild of cylinder heads listed above, tensioner bearings, hydraulic tensioners, both coils, all ignition harnesses (11/30/2012 Ferrari of Washington) - New windshield 7/15/2014, 29229 Miles - Reupholstered upper dash 7/15/2014, 29229 Miles - New rear tires 7/15/2014, 29229 Miles - New front tires 4/29/2015, 29454 Miles Service under my ownership (from 8/27/2015 until current, 29,712 miles to current) (Detailed list of parts and costs along with all service receipts to be provided per above) Exterior and Engine bay cosmetics: - Excellent exterior - rate 9 out of 10 - Wheels fully stripped to bare metal, Dow 7 treatment followed by refinish - New wheel center caps and valve stems - Front and rear bumper, along with LH door skirt removed, stripped to bare and repainted including the low gloss black accents (all done with single stage Glasurit paint per original OEM) - Skid plates installed on front bumper - Front grill stripped and re-anodized - Paint chips filled with matching paint - Front cowl painted low gloss black to freshen - Front bumper fog glass lens sanded and polished to remove pits in glass - Rear bumper license plate bracket stripped and powder coated - Engine air boxes (top and bottom) stripped and powder coated - Engine bay side panels stripped and powder coated (texture powder to match OEM) - Plenum silver accents painted - General cleaning and detailing of engine bay Interior Cosmetics: - Exceptional interior - rate 9.5 out of 10 (no broken trim, no pulling leather, carpets PERFECT) - Still has original leather aroma - Majority of interior removed, all leather and carpet clean, all leather conditioned with Leatherique - Any minor scuffs in leather touched up with proper rub in dye - Installed new gas pedal surround (original cracked) - LH door panel replaced with near pristine panel (original had scuffs) - Rear shelf corner pieces reupholstered (via Coach Trim) - New custom floor mats with grommets fitted (Made by Coach Trim) - New Alpine stereo head unit installed - All interior trim that could get sticky fully refinished. Allow me to explain in details: Often you see posted "no sticky parts" to find not all have been done. I have refinished every single part that could ever get sticky, here is the full list: - Inner door pulls - Interior mirror triangles - Door window switches and switch trims - Defroster vent plates and screw cover caps - Main HVAC vents (laser etched graphics) - Main instrument panel with gauge cones (rarely done) - Steering surround - 3 gauge trim above radio, including gauge cones - Shifter trim including all switches - HVAC panel with new factory correct overlay - Ashtray assembly - Mirror control trim - Hand brake grip - exterior, rear window, lower 3 piece trim (rarely done) Mechanical: - Performed compression test, installed new spark plugs and plug cover gaskets - Compression tests done on 8/27/2015 and 9/19/2015 - details available to serious buyer (195 PSI lowest valve, 210 highest) - Oil and filter change - Brand New brakes: New rotors, pads, hand brake pads, fresh fluid - Installed new rear axle nuts due to original having corrosion - Battery tender pigtail installed - Installed new seal (leaking) at transmission shift rod - Installed new gas filler guard (original was torn) - Installed new positive engine bay terminal box as original had broken cover hinge - Installed new OEM wiper blades - Installed various missing under tray fasteners, wiper plastic screw cover, new engine bay panel hardware, shock wire clip, etc. - anything found missing was replaced (all records of parts purchased) - CV boots and motor / transaxle mounts are all fine Known flaws: - No mechanical issues whatsoever - Cam covers need to be repainted and I can't understand why this was not done at last major. I've removed the plug covers are stripped all paint off but repainted cam covers at a time other than a major service is not practical. They have most paint removed. - Oil tank also have painted flaked off (common), again, something to be handled at next major service. - Under tray has minor cracks (common) - Eraser size ding on LH finder at body line - Eraser size ding (2) on RH rear panel (section that has Pininfarina badge) Very hard to see, must look at a certain angle and certain light - Several stone chips filled with paint and fill can be seen (need to be looking for it) - Minor micro scratches in paint (typical). - 2 very small (1/4") areas (edges) where paint was burned thru with prior buff (not by me). Looks like wax residue left behind. One is LH fender near door, other is rear bonnet area RH - Typical hairline buttress cracks as all Berlinetta have / get - In my quest for perfection, while wet sanding filled paint chips, 2 areas where thinned to the point that the base primer is bleeding though. One spot (most noticeable) is on RH side, above side quarter window. Eraser size mark. Not noticeable in sunlight. Other is a slight candy apply appearance on RH side headlight bucket. Discussed with expert painter about repairs and he suggested these are so minimal it's better to leave them be. In summary, this is a fantastic 95 Berlinetta. It runs extremely well, has massive power and torque, drives as straight as an arrow, tight as can be. Nearly perfect interior, mechanically sound, cosmetically excellent. I've gone over this car with a fine tooth comb and addressed every issue found, even the most minor issues. I challenge anyone to find a better, more complete car on the market for a similar price. The car is in extremely excellent condition but realize it's a 22 year old car and is not a show room perfect car. All detailed have been outlined to show full transparency. I welcome your inspection of the car. I have a 2 post lift in my garage and can perform a compression test in your presence if you would like. All PPI's to be at my home, you may bring any tech you like but the car does not leave. Price: $95,000.00 A few teaser pictures attached. This car is beautiful and an excellent description. Good luck with the sale Dave and I doubt it will be here long.
Beautiful car Dave! We spoke in the spring. I'm just up the road in Rochester. Good luck with the sale! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Incredible presentation, preparation and opportunity for someone to get the best early GTB on the market. Here's to a smooth transaction my friend.
Tell you what, Dave; the finish issues with the oil tank and cam covers are small potatoes when assessed against the overall condition of that engine bay...I'm drooling. Best of luck in selling this beautiful car...but, really, the buyer will be the lucky one in this case.
Thank you all for the nice compliments I've put blood, sweat and tears into this car to do it justice. Since my other 95 Berlinetta is in parts, it's going to be hard to let this one go..... The good part is the feeling that I know the new owner will get a great car that can be enjoyed for many years
Very nice Dave. Knowing how anal you are with your restorations, I have no doubt this will be a fast sale and great buy for the new owner.
Dave, Great job and description as usual. I wish I had the funds for it right now to replace my lost one. GLWS.
Great post, beautiful 355. Good luck with the sale. If I didn't just pick up a 1995 F355 Berlinetta, I'd be allover this. Mine is a very similar car, the main difference is I'm into it for $120K (including a fresh major and some additional components). At $95K, anyone who is seriously looking should snatch this up!
I can attest that all refinished sticky work was done top notch on this car as Dave refinished all the parts on my F355 to better then new condition! GLWS!
An amazing machine for sure. But I did notice in the pictures the the horses on the wheel centre caps are not pointing in the same direction. All kidding aside, I have a 95 and have always said that these cars will command the most money. I have been saying this for the last 10 years and many laughed.....Look whose laughing now? This car of Daves is simply beautiful and the buyer will be a very happy Ferrarista.
Dave has been a big help to me personally with my two 355s, and I have been following Dave's refurbishment of this beautiful 355 Berlinetta with keen interest. I believe whoever is lucky enough to be its next owner is getting a a six-digit car at a bargain. GLWS, Dave!
