Get the car detailed and wait to send the car to a good auction. Or you could aggressively price the car and sell it that way. $205k is not even in the ballpark unless this car needs a great deal either cosmetically or mechanically. I personally would take it to auction if it were mine. Ebay is going to be a waste of time in my opinion.

At this point you are correct, if time were allowed, it would be the MUCH better option, I am still working out the actual timeline for sale.
Stuart's Paint & Body here in Dallas has performed a paint correction detail on the car, touching up any rock chips, it really cleaned up well.

A Ferrari Chat member had a Pre Purchase Inspection performed with James at Norwood, everything on the returned list was addressed , even though the deal fell through.

To be perfectly clear, this is NOT a showroom new example , but you would be hard pressed to find a driver in nicer condition that this one.

The offers we have so far are sight unseen wholesale offers , which is what I invite anyone interested in making an offer , either come see it in person or have a PPI performed by and independent inspector who knows Ferrari.

Now, which auction to plan on sending it to... hmmmm...

This is Dallas? I think I just saw this car today when I took my Cali T in for service. Good looking car. Wasn't sure what it was at first and then this post popped up on my feed. I think Google/Apple has gone beyond listening to me through my phone, now they've figured out how to track my eyes and read my thoughts...

Sounds like a nice car. I’d rather have a nice driver anyway because you have the best of both worlds with no worries. Sounds like a nice car. If I didn’t already have one I’d be looking at it. You guys are selling at market so your my kind of seller. Wish you the best.

I want to be careful and transparent when I answer this question:

I personally have been the caretaker of this Ferrari for the past 8 years. During the time that I have had with it, no panels have been painted. I am also not aware of any panels having paint work at any time previous to my taking care of this 512M.

However, the passenger side front fender HAS had paintless dent repair performed to remove a quarter size imperfection caused when the owner dropped an object onto the fender while parked in the garage. No paint work was required.

The lower most leading edge of the front splitter was refinished in factory black to address minor imperfections from driving enjoyment over the past 24 years.

I also asked Stuart S. from Stuart's Paint & Body to inspect for paint work when he performed the paint correction detail previously and these are his words after inspecting the car : " From my inspection it was all factory paint. Went through all the door jams nuts and bolts no tape lines everything looked factory. "

Hope this helps, the car is available for eyes on inspection at any time , by appointment, and I am always happy to facilitate a Pre Purchase Inspection here on site or at a Ferrari facility here in the DFW area!

Thank you to Ferrari Chat for making this one of their featured threads in the newsletter, this thread has gained international exposure. Thank you Booker and Rob!

Thank you to the CV going around, offers are coming in slowly, but surely.

As noted before, actual offers are being entertained, but no... $150,000.00 will not let you take this car home today. **

This 512M is available for in person inspections by appointment pretty much anytime!

Sure sounds like a motivated seller. Fresh service, and the most powerful and end of an iconic line. I am surprised this hasn't sold yet. Have you considered BaT?

I need to drive a TR again, the one time I did it almost seemed like tighter than the 328. I couldn't be any taller 328 at 6'1", but fit perfectly. With helmet then have to take top off.

Just an opinion on the difficulty selling this rare beautiful car. For spending $100k+ more than a regular 512TR most buyers are collectors in this small market and looking for pristine low mileage. This car leans more toward driver. As a driver car then I’m guessing most people wanting to drive will think of saving the $100k and go for 512TR.

When you get back to town, you should stop by and take a test drive!

While I agree with your opinion, it is a nice driver, and if an interested party were to inspect the car in person, they would see that mileage is about the only thing that qualifies this example as a driver. The owner has approved all Service and repairs that we have suggested. The results of a previous PPI have also been addressed, regardless of how small they were. Though to compare a 512M to a 512TR in my opinion would be like saying someone would prefer a F430 over a Scud due to the price... I feel like they are two different buyers / owners / experiences .... again only my opinion.

A year ago we were getting offers shy of ask , but the owner was holding firm, as he would have rather kept the car to drive when he returned to Texas. Circumstances changed, reasonable offers were being accepted again, but CV19 all but dried up the previous offers.

It's not to fire sale status and we have all agreed to wait out the CV19 effects, but if a somewhat reasonable offer were to come in , there is a good chance it would be accepted.
( $200 - $250k are not considered "reasonable" at this point in time , especially if the offers came from people who have not seen the car in person or had their own 3rd party inspection performed. )
