The map light above the center console at the top middle of the windshield does not work. I installed a new Phillips LED bulb and it still isn’t working, except for when I touch it, then it works, but it’s very dim. Also, it does this with the doors closed and no key in the ignition which makes me think there’s a constant current running to it. I may just try a regular non-LED bulb next. Any ideas why this is happening? Also, is the only way to turn this light on or off by opening/closing the door? Thanks!

Does it matter which way you install the lamp? Some LED lamps need the positive and negative in the right positions.

Your 348 light assembly looks similar to the F355 Spider. If it can't be tilted backwards or forwards, then it must be physically broken. I replaced my 355 interior light a couple of years ago. The Ferrari ones weren't available at the time, but there were identical Hella interior lights for Porsche 911/912 available online (they had real glass, not plastic).

e.g. Check the photos on this website https://www.aasesales.com/collections/lights-lens/products/h2l-e60-23p-104885

I believe they are back in stock at the usual Ferrari suppliers, but $65 plus postage is a good price for a new (AFAIK indentical) item.

    Cheers
    Ian

(EDIT: According to Ricambi, the Ferrari P/N is 61737400 is the same for the F348 and F355, but it looks like it's nil stock there)

Thank you for the information Ian. After replacing the bulb, I think I was being too delicate with pushing the light. I gave it some force and broke it free so now it is in good working order!

Excellent. An easy (and cheap) fix.

Ah, yes, from memory, the mechanism can be a little hard to operate, especially when it's not mounted firmly in the roof.

    Cheers
    Ian.
