Up for sale is my 1993 Dodge Viper RT/10. I purchased the car with long term intent to keep it, however plans have changed (as they often do), so I'm putting it for sale here.

With only 5k miles, this particular example is truly in collector condition. It was and continues to be kept in a temperature controlled garage, and was recently treated to over $13,000 work of preservation service by a renowned Viper expert here on the East Coast to be brought up to "snuff" that included a new clutch (which it did not need but since they were in there.. why not?) and many other similar type items. It does retain the original tires on the car, however a second set is available if one wishes to drive it more intensely than to car shows and the like.

1992 was the first model year the Viper RT/10 was delivered by Dodge. There was a very short run of these cars. As the model year extended into 1993, a small batch of cars continued to be built based on the 1992 release. These were mechanically identical as the 1992 and featured the same "fixed radio antenna", so they were known as "antenna" cars. Later in 1993, Dodge made a number of changes, including moving the antenna to the windshield., as well as moving the battery and a few other odds and ends But the original 1992s are the most valuable of the original RT/10, and these early 1993s, known as "continuation cars", are the next most valuable of the original RT/10 series.

Arguably, these are perhaps the rawest expression of a roadster. No AC, No ABS, No Airbags. A big, hulking V10. Manual transmission and Momo steering wheel. A true successor to the promise of the AC Cobra. I believe they are the next blue chip cars. As time goes on, they will become more appreciated for what they are - raw and just plain awesome. I am confident they will be six figure cars soon, especially as we race towards an electric future.

Clean CARFAX, no paintwork, no accidents. Includes all the accessories including the very rare "Canvas" version of the softtop, both sets of original keys, books, etc. All the canvas on the windows is in perfect condition, as is the plastic clear windows.

Check out more photos and details here - http://maranelloholdings.com/viper. Or check out the video walk around below. If you have any questions or are interested, please reach out to me via PM.

Asking $64,900 or best offer - located in Northern NJ.

I know nothing of the Viper market, but that seems a great car in collectible condition for pretty short money. Would've thought that'd be over $100k; the value, as in what you're getting for what you're paying, is certainly there. GLWS.

A stunning car and and an outstanding representative of the car. Many thanks for sharing the history and the photos! You should have no problem selling that car. Hopefully it goes to someone that can preserve it as you have.

Agreed! There is nothing like this on the market right now, so unfortunately, I'm getting compared to cars with ZERO service, ones with higher miles, and ones that are later model years (non-continuation cars).

All - I have a dealer who made me an offer, less than my asking here. I'm tempted to take it just to move on but would prefer to sell it privately. If anyone is interested, please let me know before I let it go to them. Thanks!

I hope you find a “Viper nut” that wants it - you’ll feel better about letting it go.

Gorgeous car. Do you mind if I ask which Viper expert you used?

    Thanks

Correct. Chuck Tator is one of the premier Viper experts. They work on Vipers exclusively.

I love this car and really would love to buy it. I have one of my cars for sale right now to make room for something new to add to the collection, but market is slow. I think your price is not unreasonable given what is is. I have a long and longing history with the 1993 Viper.

My history with these goes back to 1992. Family lived in Detroit. We moved to a new home in Bloomfield Hills. Shortly thereafter Lee Iacocca moved next door to us. He was a great neighbor and very nice guy. He always gave my dad a hard time about driving European cars (Dad at the time had an Audi sedan and mom drove an a Porsche American Roadster. ) My dad told Lee he would love to buy an American car, but they did not make anything he was interested in. Lee offered my dad one of the new Vipers at list - said he could not get us a 1992 as they were all spoken for, but would get us an early 1993. My dad countered that we only had a 2 car garage. Lee offered to let us keep the Viper in his garage. The deal was done. Car came and I had a great time driving it that summer. Unfortunately, my dad HATED that car. It was loud. It was hot. It rattled and shook a lot... It soon disappeared.:mad: I have always missed that car and the American Roadster. Have been on the hunt for both ever since.

Wow, I commend you!...You really did this car solid... and to the next owner as well.
Vipers are very underrated cars, I have a special affinity to all models, especially the 3rd series.
There is a sweet spot, right around 3rd gear and 4000 RPM...and then you take off..spine tingling stuff!
10 cylinders before most anyone else had them...All Vipers are like nothing else on the road!
Ask me how I know!..You can ask my wife too.. the silver one was hers!!

    Would Love to Have yours!
    GLWS!

I think at the 40 year old mark these cars are going to see a sharp increase in value

Pending sale to a dealer guys. Had hoped it would have went to someone privately. If you see it on market again, it will likely be priced higher - my guess is probably mid 80s. Thank you all for the feedback and positive commentary.

Saw one on the road Saturday while I had the Diablo Roadster out.

If there was a taker near the ask price they would have come forward, so you did the right thing cashing it out.
