Differential and a few others i dont remember off top of my head. 94s do trade at a real premium to earlier models so maybe pre 94 is specific to budget.

You want the '94. Any earlier 512TRs has the carrier gear problem, which anyone who knows anything about these cars will expect a discount on the price. It's an expensive and necessary fix for anyone looking to drive the car. It's not a matter of "if" the carrier explodes, it's only a matter of "when". I have the serial numbers of when they started the upgrade in late '93 if you need them.

Numbers: Using real data of 98932 and 2178 and 93120 and 508, we can calculate a closer WAG, and that is serial number 96120, not too far off from the original WAG. And 96119 is a 512 TR. So likely the change was made around SN 96000-96200.

That's wonderful! But these pages are littered with threads about the exploding carrier.

You are correct, "Littered" with threads. ;) There have been some mishaps with the carrier, but it is NOT endemic of all cars.
Just as some cars have had issues with the Fuse Box, it DOES NOT mean that all the cars will have problems and have to get a fuse box update. :)
Be also wary of the source(s) reporting the "problems", since [hypothetically] the source(s) may have other motives for putting forth said information. :)

People are just so abusive with these cars and think they are a 60 muscle car they can pop the clutch and burn the tires. It happens, I see it all the time and just general abusive shifting that shocks the driveline is the main cause of this. I put 750hp through a stock one and drove it spirited and zero problems as well as three others so I don't buy it for one minute if properly taken care of. Sorry , Mike did not mean to hi jack your ad just bringing some clarity about a car you are looking to get.

Because it was brought up that the car you are looking to acquire has problems which is not true. I'm through discussing it. The first statement should have never been made about the differential issues. Its not correct.
