I called my insurance company to get a quote on the 348 & they need to know the original price when it was new. If anyone knows or can direct me that would be great. I'm buying the car from a dealer so I guess they should know, but they haven't gotten back to me yet.
    thanks,
    Chris

When I bought my F-cars, my insurance co asked the same thing. Each time I told them I had no idea and gave them my purchase price (Allstate).

Why would the insurance co. care how much a 15 year old car costs new?

FCA NW region has MSRP data listed. '90 ts $106K, '92 ts $117K. There is no '91 listed on there web site. I would think the dealer or Ferrari N.A. would have that info.

A couple of answers for you:

Road & Track "new cars 1991" in October 1990 article shows price range for 348's from $101,050 to $108,000.

Car & Driver article, September 1991, base price and price as tested for 348ts shown as $122,180.

Would the insurance company need to know to calculate future depreciation or are they just being a PIA?
