    Hi
I need to replace my radiator cap.
Is the 1.1 Bar the one to get?
If so, where do I get one? Any brand?
I'm based in Australia, so local would be great, but happy to go international.
    Thanks in advance.

there really isnt a reason to change from the Ferrari specified .9 bar cap. You are just adding load to the system stressing 30 year old system components that dont need it. It changes the boiling point only a few degrees and if you have boiling over problems, changing the cap to 1.1 bar is a band aid at best. Your call, there are a bunch of threads on that.

Stant ones are fine. You can get 1.1 bar if you want. You want a non-vented one.

    Stant 10229 for .9 bar/13 psi
    Stant 10230 for 1.1 bar/16 psi

10329 and 10330 for the lever version. Some folks have said that the lever version hits the bottom of the boot lid.

easily found on Amazon for less than $10 US for the non lever versions

Thanks mate. I read on these forums that people recommend going up to 1.1 - seems to work better?

Are the Stant ones closest to the original look or is there a better brand?

About a month after I bought my 308 back in 1997, my cap failed. It was a 0.9. I was told by someone then to up it to 1.1

I upped it to 1.1 and have not had another issue with it in 21 years and 60,000 something miles including track days in Alabama in August. Lots of those back in the day.

It has a new 1.1 Stant now. I put on about 2 years ago replacing the 1.1 I bought in Oct 1997.

    You want a Stant.

If you want stock for appearances, buy one and keep it in the trunk. Drive with the Stant and put the other one on when it's parked to show people.

I’m still using the 0.9 bar today, no over spilling and no overheating problem with a little over 85K miles.

I believe there was a Service Bulletin issued by Ferrari which raised the spec to a 1.1 bar cap. Yeah, the extra pressure adds stress to the hoses but if they can't hold 16 psi, they probably should be changed anyway.

I unintentionally became a expansion tank cap expert in this thread:

The Stant 10230 is a good choice.

THe 16 PSI Stant works fine, is easily available and inexpensive. If the Ferrari cooling system can't take a 3PSI increase in pressure (.9 to 1.1 Bar), there is a serious system problem that has to be addressed
    ! :)
