    SN ZFFZA27B000067773 is an original Italian delivery car which currently has 42k kilometers (26k miles) and has been state side since I imported the car earlier this year. Once it landed, our shop (Automotive International of Charlotte) completed an extensive major service, which included the following;
    - new timing belt with Hill Engineering tensioner bearings
    - Camshaft seals and O-rings
    - Adjusted the valves
    - various gaskets replaced
    - All new fluids, filters and accessory belts
    - new shift shaft seal
    - new fuel tank crossover hoses
    - new battery
    - new upper engine strut mount bushings and rear sway bar end link bushings

For those unfamiliar with this model, it was officially known as a "GTB turbo". The factory had for years produced 2.0 liter V-8 variants of its 308/328 cars to get around Italian taxation based upon engine displacement. The responsibility of designing the swan song of this model lineup was given to Nicola Materazzi, who was the project leader of the 288 GTO. Indeed, he incorporated many lessons learned on the GTO, changing the turbo over to one produced by Japanese company IHI versus the previous employed German KKK Turbolader. The GTB/GTS turbo also utilized a Behr intercooler and a more sophisticated ignition system with a knock sensor and new waste gate valve driven by exhaust gas pressure, which allows an overboost in the mid rpm ranges. While rated power from the factory was officially 254 bhp, internal factory dyno sheets show as much as 275 bhp. The 2.0 liter turbo officially produces 10% more torque than the 3.2 liter normally aspirated unit and at a lower rpm of 4100 versus 4600.

There is a great book, "Ferrari - The turbo eight cylinders", written by one of our own Fchat brethren (Albert-LP), Alberto Mantovani, that goes into detail on all the turbo V-8 cars that Ferrari developed in the 1980's! Quoting from Alberto's book, "the gain in terms of thrust at medium and low rpm is really impressive, so much so that this small 2.0 liter 8 cylinder is capable of significantly overtaking even the 3.2 liter engine of the 328, with an exciting power kick at 3500 rpm that goes on up to 7000 rpm. Truly, it is a little beast: aggressive, powerful, flexible and with a great intake and exhaust sound. I personally consider this unit the best engine ever installed on the 308/328 series, and by far."

This car is ready to go and with a good detail could be a platinum winner! Of course it comes with its tools, jack kit, and its complete set of books (including warranty card & original Italian Libretto registration certificate).

I have imported 3 of the 308 total cars produced and firmly believe that once one drives this car you will never want another normally aspirated "regular" 328! But don't take my word, come see and drive the car yourself! We are bringing the car to the FCA national meet in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin where it will be offered for sale at $139,900 obo! If interested, get in touch with me at 704-962-9683 and make arrangements to view the car either here in Charlotte, NC or at the National meet.

    Cool and rare car.

    308 in the world!

“Oh, but it is a 2 liter car, who wants that?”

Remember when the exact same thing was said about the 2 liter 206GT Dino? Now look!

1980’s cars are the next to take off in value.

This and the glass 308 will be the ones to watch.

This will look like a screaming bargain in 3-5 years.

Very cool. I've always liked the GTB and NACA ducts.

Neat car. Its a turbocharged 2 valve, 2.0 liter V8 correct. Its not 3.2 liter V8 turbo as advertised. But has the 328 GTB looks.

Correct, it's a 2.0 liter V8 turbo. I never said it was a 3.2 liter - if one reads further down into the ad when I explain what the car is I state it's a 2.0 liter. The correct terminology per Ferrari is simply a GTB Turbo, but I used the 328 moniker in the title as most people in the USA are unfamiliar with this model and many people refer to it as a 328 turbo due to it's appearance.

What a gorgeous shape, always preferred the 328’s design evolution to the 308. Good luck with the sale!

Not yet - several people drove it and ALL were impressed! My only requirement for a test drive was to please share your impressions on F-chat! No one has done that yet - but then again, I can understand an interested buyer not wanting to post and draw attention to other potential buyers.

I was able to drive the car. It was surprising how powerful the car was and how well it has aged. The turbo is very impressive and a lot of fun as the revs came up. I’ve owned a carbureted 308 and a 328 and have to admit this car was more fun to drive. it also does not miss out on the sound.

    Hal,

Thanks for providing your impressions and it would be much appreciated if others who drove the car would do the same! The car is back in Charlotte and the same offer applies to anyone in the area - come by and see the car and drive it - with my only request being to provide your impressions to the forum! Hal can attest that there is absolutely no high pressure sales tactics - those that know me realize that is not who I am. Instead, I am just supremely confident the car will sell itself when the right person comes along.

I also took it for a ride with one of the AI guys and really liked it. Ironic that my username has 328 in it, as while I've ridden in several I've never driven one so can't compare the two in that regard, but the sound from the GTB turbo's exhaust was amazing. The engine loved to be revved. While out, we came upon a slower car I was able to easily pass, and the sound from that overtake was wonderful.

I remarked to a friend that I wished I could have it for the weekend to really get to know it. I always wanted a 328 GTB someday, but would gladly consider a GTB turbo after that drive.

Thanks for the opportunity to check it out, Glenn.

I’m very happy after so many years all the world is discovering the fantastic Gts/Gtb Turbo Intercooler.
I’m writing from Italy and I’m an happy owner of a ‘87 Gts Turbo, so…don’t miss the opportunity to buy this car!
Is much more funny and rare than a 328.
Moreover: with some small adjustment you can increase power in total reliability (this car came out of the factory with a lower power output for commercial reasons, otherwise no one would have bought the 328 here in Italy). Mine has got around 290 hp, only opening up a bit wastegate valve.
I repeat: don’t miss the opportunity to buy this fantastic car!
