    Hello all,

I know I'm going to get "blasted" for this........but yes, I do own a Biturbo! It's my part-time daily driver.

Wondering if anyone can help me out. Last week, the car was driving fine, I stopped at the store and turned it off. Came back out to leave and it would crank over, but wouldn't start. Diagnosis concludes that there is no spark. No 12V+ power at the coil with the ignition on.

Would anyone be able to tell me which side of the coil should have 12V+?? There are a total of 4 wires going to the coil which are put together in pairs:

-Side towards the front of the car has a black and a white with a black striped wire.

-Side closest to the dashboard area of the car has a blue and a blue with a lighter blue striped wire.

If someone else has a Biturbo and can check which side is positive with a test light............I would REALLY appreciate it!

I have a factory service manual, but that does not tell me. The Biturbo service manual has got to be the worse workshop manual I have ever seen! I think some of the Haynes and Chilton's manuals are more informative than this one!

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks very much in advance!

I think you need an attitude adjustment.

    Don't be so defensive.

Just ignore the people like the second poster on this thread. 99% of them are completely ignorant of the real story about these cars. So if you like it enjoy it. I've enjoyed mine for 25 years so far.

If you think that service manual sucks I don't know what to say. Not many cars come with one that good. The Haynes for my 2001 Sable really IS total crap.

Try Enrico's website for a newer version of the service manual and that might be of more help to you.

If you want some decent help go to the Yahoo Groups Biturbozentrum website. There's not much on Fchat for these cars.

You won't get stupid jokes there either. Just help.

normv..........That Biturbo that was traded in seems to be pretty "big" news! A number of people know that I own one and have shown me the vid and article as soon as it came out! Pretty sad actually since it sounded like a very nice example. There are a lot WORSE ones on the road than that one. However, I can understand the guy trading it in. He tried to sell it with no luck, so he was able to get what he wanted for it through the clunkers program instead. It all comes down to "numbers" in the end unfortunately! :(

Too bad it has to be crushed.......there's a lot of useful parts on it. I know I could use some things off of it!

judge4re, thanks for the wiring diagram! That really helped me out! I traced the problem down to a bad relay. Fixed it, and I'm back on the road again! :D

Bob.......thanks for the info and for the links. I will check them out. 25 years for your Biturbo?? That's great!

    Jason......thanks for the compliment!

They are finicky and they do have their quirks. It's definitely a challenge to keep it on the road sometimes! I spend a lot of time under the hood......but overall I do like it! :)
