    Hello all!

I have a car for sale on Bring a Trailer that is White (Bianco - FER100) .. It is questionable if the Glassurit sticker is original and I would like to prove that it is or was not white from the factory.

My local Ferrari dealer says that a record is not available in the database.
Ferrari NA refered me to my local dealer.

I'm hoping that someone here can help me out!

The VIN will not decode to give an indication as to paint color.

Back in the engine compartment to the left of the coolant tank on the body you will find a small square flap of material. Under the little flap you will find a number stamped into the body and with it, the original color of the car. Few people even know this exists and I have never seen anyone mask that thing off and paint it too if they changed the color of the car. In this pic the flap is gone but you can see the dark red (this particular car has been repainted rosso corso) . I drew a yellow circle around it. You may need to look very closely and scratch around with your fingernail to find it, or it may be staring right at you. I cropped in on your picture and it appears that the flap is missing and showing white paint. Go take a look and find the answer you are looking for about the original color.

If you see white with a number stamped in it, that car left the factory white.

BTW, that number is somewhat of a mystery but the general consensus is it is the sequence number of the chassis when it was built. I started a thread on this here about 16 years ago but I could not find it.

Great idea. I’ve attached the pic of my number as I was unaware of it until reading about it in FChat. Prior to peeling it back, the surface of the protective wax was slightly raised.

That "protective wax" is (was?) 40 year old masking tape.
