My father passed away and left me his 308. It's black on black with 19,985 mile on it. It's completely original. I took it to the local Ferrari dealership and had it gone throught top to bottom. Tune-up, all fluids changed, hoses replaced ETC. However, the seats are old, hard and the drivers seat is showing whear from getting in and out of car. a piece of the ribbing is coming out and the carpet is starting to get a blue tint to it. Question, Should I have the seats redone or recolor them. and should I leave the carpet or have it redone. I would like to show it someday at the Concourse.

Poke around in the 308/328 section, I think someone (in a thread other than the one linked above) got a guy in California set up to make quality covers at a good price. Something within the last 2 or 3 months.

Which Concourse? Italiano in Monterey? Bella Italia in San Diego? Or some "main street" show where you sit in the sun in your folding chair and come away with nothing? To quote one of our promenent members: (Bullfighter) " a dye job will always look like a dye job" Maybe not so much since you're dealing with black where dying will cover flaws seen in any of the other colors. If you're serious, the only answer is to have your interior redone by a professional. Done right, you should be shown swatches from different "dye lots" as there are different grains to decide on along with the color. The work will be done usuing your existing seats as patterns, not the one size fits all covers from a number of suppliers. You should do the entire interior - seats, door cards, dash and carpet. It's maybe not worth doing unless the rest of the car is top notch and its not cheap. Around $5K for a really good job.
The man I recommend is "thomas" here in San Diego. Don't know his last name but you can get a hold of him through Jeff Abramson at Cavallo Motorsports in Oceanside.

Good Luck! And remember, It's a Ferrari and it deserves the best!

Try GAHH..or World Upholstery ....it sounds like you might only need a few pieces of the interior kit, (seat bottom cover only?) and a set of new carpets.

Or a Trim Shop can easily redo the edge welting and a few panels.

    Easily done.

Actually with only 19,985 original miles the car is in beautifull shape. the carpet is slightly faded you can only tell in the sunlight. the right seat is still in mint condition. the drivers back rest of the seat is the only problem from age and getting in and out. I'm not worried about replacing the interior in total. My dash, arm rests and center console are mint. I just didn't know if the judges ding you when you upgrade or not. I saw a thread where someone pointed out there is some guy named VIC in glendale that can replace the seat covers with original leather for $1,000 but I cant find the thread. There is a company named Mikes hard tops and custom upolstery in Mission Viejo that said he could redo the carpets and seats and redo them in euro leather for $3500. The same leather Maserati, Bentley and MB uses. He says he cannot get original leather. What is Gahh? I will try to post some more pictures of the car.
