Moving on from a few cars and focusing on a few others. Selling my 1969 Jaguar XKE. Jaguar Heritage Docs. Very early Series 2. NOM 4.2L, 4spd, desirable triple SU carburetors. Very solid car, quarters, rockers, floors, hood very good condition. Slight scale on the floor to toe board junction on the drivers side but no rust through. New parts: polished stainless exhaust, entire wiring harness including fuse boxes, ignition switch, turn signal switch, Hitachi alternator upgrade, new relays, basically everything electrical has been replaced so there’s no worries on anything finicky with the Lucas wiring. New front turn signal assemblies, rear tail lights and reverse light assemblies. The only item that doesn’t work is the wipers due to the motor. More new Parts: gas tank, battery cables, I upgraded to the spin on oil filter adapter, several minor parts, etc. I put a lot into this car to make this a reliable driver so all new wiring was a must. It was wired with some aftermarket hotrod harness which was a mess. Everything electrical was replaced with correct parts for SNG Barratt. Quality stuff. All gauges work, interior has new carpet. Top is older, in OK shape, but no side rail weather stripping. There is a dent on the driver’s side rear quarter panel that would need some massaging. The paint is so-so, and the original color is Willow Green. Car starts right up everytime. Titled as a 1968 for whatever reason (dating back to the 1990s - registrations to show that) from what I can assume was due to the early build date of August, 1968. Transmission has a few synchro issues but it still goes through the gears. Mainly if you don’t wind up 2nd to 3rd it’s smooth. In the end it’s a great driving E-Type that I take out for nice weather local drives that gets smiles and a lot of thumbs up. You sure don’t see many on the road compared to Mustangs, Camaros, and the typical classics. It’s far from perfect and still needs things. Butfor the same price you can get a major project for, this one runs and drives and looks decent at least! I’ve had my fun with it and am moving on to another car. If interested, email me and I’ll send you my number to chat. [email protected]

    Cheers

Beautiful! GLWS! I'm thinking the triple SUs (vs double strombergs) were an add on/replacement at some point. Very unusual to see them that "far" into the SII...especially w the cam covers shown.

Correct. The triple SU was added by someone a long time ago. It’s a non-original motor and trans, but they made things period correct at least. Also changed the gear oil in the transmission to the Redline stuff, added the spin on oil filter adapter too.
