I have a few question regarding the 365 GT QM interior,

Attached are two photos, one with the leather wheel another with a wooden, solid spoke wheel. Were one or both of these steering wheels options on the Queen Mothers?

Also, note in the photos the window switches on center console between the shifter and ashtray. In one photo there are two , the other there are four. What are the extra two switches and why are they on some cars and not on others?

    Thank!

I believe the upper photo is a later car, which is why it has that wheel and only two window switches.

Earlier cars, such as mine (12327 is actually right in the middle of the run) have the wood wheel and four switches. The forward two switches run the electrically operated vent windows. Apparently at some point, Ferrari decided this was too complicated and went to manual vent windows, hence only two switches.

In the lower picture? Looks like something is plugged into the outlet, maybe a light. Or am I missing something?

My QM, #12573, has a leather steering wheel and four switches. I believe the wild timeframe for mine was early 1970.

Mine is very late car - #13877. They went to 2 switches 1/2 way through the production run for the reason explained above. I have a wood steering wheel like the second photo and the leather one is a revelation to me.

The wood rim steering wheels with silver spokes were standard on cars built for European Sale
Among other differences such as 4 snorkel air cleaners and single alternators and defroster vents built into dash top rather then added onto. I owned 11727 & 11835 which were IMHO
Much more attractive then the U.S. Cars with the Black steering wheels.
The button next to the cigarette lighter was added after the car left the factory for something
Such as EMRG flashing turn signals, stereo system, choke or power radio antenna or such. It was not a factory switch.
The power vent windows & motors were a problem and were deleted on later cars.( they were supplied to Ferrari by Cadillac I believe)

You'll notice that the tan interior car has knobs under the vent windows, whereas the black interior car does not.

I don't know if you still have 12573, but I owned that car from 1981 to 1999 and it introduced me to the world of Ferrari. We had a huge amount of fun and created many lifelong friends with the car and the car itself was a beautiful, extremely well-handling, versatile car that we showed and raced for all those years. Even after owning other Ferraris I still miss 12573. You might enjoy this short video I put together showing what the car could do.

If you do not still have the car, but know it's whereabouts I would appreciate knowing.

Pretty cool, that video would never go well in an effort to sell at auction these days. Full disclosure? well done. My car is 12659 and has the 4 switches and the Momo steering wheel.

so early cars had wood wheels and i believe a momo wood wheel (not sure on momo) with silver trim and four window switches while later cars had nardi wood wheels with anodized black spokes (not sure on nardi) and only two window switches as vent windows went over to manual hand wind action. I am not sure leather wheel was ever correct but in theory could be as there may have been some overlap in 70 when the leather covered wheels were in use.
