I am selling my 1964 Sunbeam Tiger; a Mk 1 example that underwent a mechanical and cosmetic refurbishment in 2020-2021. The car is finished in green over black vinyl upholstery and powered by the original 260ci Ford V8 paired with the original Ford toploader four-speed manual transmission. Features include a black soft top, a Summit Racing four-barrel carburetor, an Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold, PerTronix electronic ignition, a spin-on oil filter adaptor, a dual-exit exhaust system, a front sway bar, 15″ VTO alloy wheels, a wood dash panel, and a Moto-Lita steering wheel.
Work performed under current ownership involved the installation of replacement steering rack boots, a voltage regulator, a GPS speedometer, a tachometer, and a voltmeter. This Mk 1 Tiger is offered in Palm City, Florida with a Certificate of Authenticity from the Sunbeam Tiger Owner’s Association (STOA), a Coventry Transport Museum Certificate of Vehicle Authenticity, an owner’s handbook, tools, car cover, a tonneau cover, a spare speedometer and tachometer, service records, spare parts, and a clean Virginia title in the seller’s name.
Delivered from the factory in Forest Green (86), the car was repainted in an MG-sourced shade of green in the late 1980s and was resprayed under previous ownership in 2020. A replacement windshield and seal were also installed, and additional exterior equipment includes chrome bumpers with overriders, a black soft top, bullet-style door mirrors, and polished dual exhaust outlets. The windshield washer lines are not installed.
Staggered-width silver 15″ VTO alloy wheels feature polished lips with Sunbeam Tiger-branded center caps and are mounted with Kuhmo Ecsta PA31 tires measuring 195/50 up front and 205/50 out back with 2019 date codes. Replacement front springs, sway bar bushings, and shock absorbers were fitted under previous ownership along with an upgraded 0.875″ front sway bar. The steering rack boots were replaced under current ownership. Stopping power is provided by front discs and rear drums.
The cockpit features reclining bucket seats trimmed in black vinyl along with a matching dash pad, door panels, and carpets. A replacement Lucas turn signal switch was installed under the seller’s ownership. Black rubber mats line the floors, and a pair of Tiger-branded mats are included in the sale.
The leather-wrapped Moto-Lita steering wheel fronts a burl wood dash panel housing a replacement Jaeger-branded GPS speedometer, a 5,500-rpm tachometer, and a voltmeter that were installed under current ownership. Additional auxiliary gauges feature readouts for oil pressure, water temperature, and fuel level. The digital odometer shows 156 miles, and approximately 170 miles were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown. The original speedometer and tachometer are included in the sale.
The 260ci Ford V8 features chrome valve covers and was fitted with a replacement Summit Racing four-barrel carburetor, an Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold, PerTronix electronic ignition, and a spin-on oil filter adaptor under previous ownership in 2020. Service performed under the seller’s ownership included installing an Autolite voltage regulator and a replacement fuse box. An oil leak is noted from the oil pan drain plug.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission. A slight drip is noted from the transmission.
I am asking $51,000 reflecting the current market.
