I'm considering selling my 1964 Lincoln Continental Convertible. This is a very rare car, as they only built 3,328 brand new in 1964. So what number of 1964 Lincoln Convertibles that are still on the road today? Your guess is as good as mine, but I would say no more than 500 running/driving convertibles on the road today. What makes my car even rarer is it's an original restored car. Car has 57,003 original miles. Car is #'s matching engine and transmission. Original to the car and has never been out of the car. The car was purchased by Selluxe in 2016 and then restored. I'm friends with the owner of Selluxe and this is the second car his business ever built. When Selluxe purchased the car, it had 56,000 miles. Car went through a 2 year restoration process and I've owned the car since June 2016. I've invested a lot of time, effort, and money to bring the car to the level it's at currently. I'm very proud of where the car is at today and what I've done to get it there. If you're not familiar with 60's era Lincolns, they're not simple cars. Very advanced in 60's, but today, can be challenging and not the easiest car to work on. I have all the connections for the right people to work on the car, so that has helped with the quality and level of my car. I call my car "originally restored", because the car has a lot of originality to it, but has also been restored in the areas you would expect an old car to be restored. I have 576 pictures and 45 videos of my 7 1/2 years of ownership in all the various stages. I've owned a lot of various cars and this car by far, draws the most attention by all. Anytime the car is out anywhere, the amount of attentions, compliments, and people that want to talk to me about the car, is really cool. Give you an example, my mechanic took my car to the "Cool Wheels Car Show" Deerfield Beach last month. 1000+ cars at the show and my car was the only 64 Lincoln Continental at the show. Car got a lot of attention. I think that speaks to the rarity also.

I have all maintenance receipts, pictures of work, and what has been done to the car. See list below of original build info, repairs I've made to the car during my ownership, VIN Tag Decode, and what's still on my "To Do List" which I haven't gotten to at this point.

    BUILD INFORMATION:

-Selluxe invested $70K into the build, parts & labor. Doesn't include the original cost of car.
-Chassis of car shows extremely well. These cars are notorious for being "rust buckets" and usually have major chassis rust issues. This isn't the case with my car. Chassis is super solid and clean.
-Body is 95% rust free. There are some minor rust spots on the car, that were fixed in 2018, but work wasn't done correctly. So those minor spots are back. These minor spots you need to be on top of the car to see and notice. Rear drivers side door rail in corner, small spot on passenger side door rail, and both drivers/passenger side deckled rails at top where top closes. These spots are easily fixable. I was going to get the underneath the car sealed and these minor spots repaired, at same time. Just haven't gotten to it yet.
-2016 AccuAir Management system with Mobsteel front & rear air ride kit installed. Had a small leak in front passenger side air bag line recently, which was just fixed. Other than that, system works perfect.
-Brand new Diamondback Classics DB Z5 1" Whitewalls 245/40/20/Z5100 installed August 2022.
-Brand new Convertible Cloth(not vinyl/canvas) with tinted rear window installed October 2022.
-Mobsteel Detroit Steel 20 inch wheels/rim with "Baby Moon" caps.
-2016 $9K spent with complete overhaul of top mechanicals. Top relays, motors, hydraulics, hoses, and new upper panel limited switch installed(extremely important part for reliable function of top). Top works flawless, as it should.
-2016 window motor & switches rebuilt. All windows, including triangle windows on front doors, work as they should.
-My car has "Rear Window Automatic Drop" when rear doors open and close. Rare option. *NOTE: This option rarely works on old Lincolns. Both doors work as they should on my car.
-Brakes are strong and work as they should.
-430 MEL V8 is incredibly strong, runs very well, and sounds great.
-2019 transmission was rebuilt. Car shifts smoothly.
-Factory AC car. Not sure the number of convertibles produced with factory AC, but have to believe the number is small. Rare option.
-Installed HID headlights. Lights work great and are bright.
-Dash lights, turn signals, reverse lights, break lights, dome lights, map light all work. I've updated most of interior lighting to "LED's", so interior looks cool and bright.
-Car was painted in 2016. Car was stored at Selluxe when I purchased it. I got the car out of storage there and Selluxe did a bunch of work to the car from October 2018 to end November 2018. I have all receipts and pictures of that work. June 2019 the car had full paint correction, wet sand, and buff. I have pictures of all the work. Paint is in nice shape and I would consider above driver quality paint. Car shows very well and as mentioned earlier, gets a lot of attention when I'm out with it.
-Front & rear bumpers were re-chromed 2018. Both are in very nice condition and show very well. I have one small issue, which happened last week. I back into a pole and drivers side has a small dent. Dent is about 1 1/2" long. Nothing major, but sure does aggravate me. Since my car didn't have one dent on it. Not a big deal, but big deal to me, if you understood how I care and keep my cars. This is no big deal at end of day and an easy fix. Bumper is original to car, so correct fix would be to have bumper taken off, small dent banged out, and re-chromed. Now on my "To Do" list.
-All moldings, trim, emblems, Continental emblems, door handles, drivers side mirror are in great shape and show very well. All are original to car.
-Front grill is original to the car and is nice shape. Shows well.
-2016 new carpet installed and carpet is perfect.
-2016 new leather seats built and installed. Thick quality leather used and conditioned properly, before installation. Seats look excellent and are in perfect shape.
-2016 new black with white Lincoln logo flats mats purchased and installed.
-2016 new rearview mirror and hardware installed. Rearview mirror has "Day/Night" feature.
-Original 1964 black dash in car is in perfect condition, no cracks. Very rare to have original dash in car without any cracks, damage, or issues.
-2016 & 2018 rubbers seals replaced in doors, trunk lid, windows, convertible top, and other small areas. Triangle front 2 windows show wear and could probably be replaced in the near future, but work fine, no issue.
-Bluetooth radio installed with speaker installed where factory speaker would go in dash, subwoofer & amp installed in trunk. So nothing cut as far as factory look. Great clean sound. your phone works as head unit.

    REPAIRS MADE SINCE I'VE OWNED:

-Transmission rear seal replaced January 2022.
    -Front alignment January 2022.
-Install new inside of glove box December 2022.
-Install and hardwire new trickle charger December 2022.
-Top post battery disconnect installed August 2019.
    -Change Solenoid August 2019.
    -Paint Correction, Wet/Sand, & Buff June 2019.
    -Paint Steering Column June 2019.
    -Fix Cigarette lighter June 2019.
-Install aftermarket horn and button hidden under dash December 2022. Was going to diagnose factory horn and get that working, but haven't addressed yet. On the list...
-Fixed build issue with brackets and shock mounts installed incorrectly. Fixed very tiny holes made in gas tank, from air ride installation done with 2016 build. My mechanic called in a fabricator to grind, reset, and properly weld everything. Have all pictures and work was done June 2022, which was done incredibly well.
-Rear diff seal replaced June 2022.
    -Wiper blades adjusted June 2022.
-New ignition switch installed June 2022.
-Front end work: change bushings, tie rods, ball joints June 2022.
-Oil & filter change June 2022.
-My mechanic installed new AC compressor, valves, and Freon 134. He isn't an AC specialist, but does all my works on my classic cars, so he handled this stuff for me. AC needs a specialist to handle "Vacuum advance on the dash that turns air on, per my mechanic. My mechanic was able to bypass this and the new compressor kicked right on. Next step was to have my mechanic send car to his AC guy to handle. But since it isn't summer yet, I was waiting to handle before summer.
    -New battery installed 2021.
-October 2018 to end of November 2018, Selluxe did 5 weeks of work on the car, both mechanical & cosmetic body work, fixing minor rust, etc. Too much to list, but have receipts, and pictures of work.

    VIN TAG DECODE:

    Body(74A): Convertible.
Color(M): Artic White. NOTE: Car at one point in its life was red, because I see spots in engine bay, and when rear seat was out, red spots. So someone did a color change along its life. Selluxe painted the car white, which was original color, in 2016.
    Trim(82): Blue
DSO(81): Ford of Canada original dealer delivery.
    Axle(1): 2.89:1
    VIN#: 4Y86N419113
    First Digit(4): Model Year
Second digit(Y): Assembly Plant: Wixom, Michigan
    Third & Fourth Digit(86): 4 Door Convertible
Fifth Digit(N) Engine Code. 430 MEL CID 4V Carburetor

As you can see above, I've done a lot of work to the car, and proud to say the car is in way better condition, from my 7 1/2 years of ownership, then when the car was first built. With that said, I follow the market closely, I see what auctions do, what private sales do, and know what one of the only premier 60's era Lincoln builders sells his build for. So I know what my car is worth. I'm asking $130,000. Based on market my car is priced right and very fair. Honestly, you will need to want the car, more than I do, for me to let it go. If I let the car go, I would want to make sure the next owner is the right owner, to continue to be a go steward moving forward. When it comes to classic cars, we're all just caretakers for the next owner. I believe our job is to take care of these classics for the next generations to enjoy. I know I'm doing my part.

Nice! I’ve had my arctic white ‘64 since 2005. These Lincolns are on the rise. I assume you are on Suicide Slabs Facebook group? There’s some Lincoln’s for sale tangent groups too.

Thanks. Appreciate it. Yep, that’s Lincoln life. Labor of love. Agreed, 64 has best dash and IMO or also everyone most says, 64 is best year for 60’s era Lincoln’s.

    I love that car.

IMHO, it’s priced too high. You might want to take it to auction.
