Jim can do whatever he wants with his car, it's his.

Pierre Bardinon have had enough cars in his life. He began with Bugattis : Bugatti 35B, Bugatti 51, Bugatti 55, Bugatti 57S Atalante and he even made his wedding trip with his wife Yanne in a Bugatti 35B.
He also had a Delahaye 135 (4th at Le Mans 1938), Peugeot 203 Darl'Mat Compressor (he still have a Peugeot 505 Compressor today), Salmson 2300S, Talbot-Lago, several Lancias and Jaguars including a Hillclimb special E-Type Lightweight made especially for him by the Jaguar factory (that he still have).

In the late 50's, early 60's he began to buy Ferraris at an industrial rate.
Sometimes only wrecks or parts. Most of the time unrestored cars at the end of their racing career that looked like pieces of junk (several Testa-Rossas, up to three '62 GTOs, Dinos 206, 296, etc...).
At this time when he wanted to restore a particular model he went to make deals with Scaglietti, sometimes traded engines or rolling chassis for a bodywork.
They were a happy few in these years to collect the red cars that nobody wanted, like Sach and Matsuda (who sold almost all his Ferraris by now).

Bardinon have a special relationship with his 250LM (5841GT). He probably is the only 250LM owner in the world to have tracted a tow with his car.
A custom-made tow to have room for his two sons, Yanne traveled in the passager's seat of course.

For sure, the 1967 330P4 (0860) is a masterpiece but it's not road legal and driven only on Le Mas du Clos private track. He keeps other cars of special interest like 0396 375+ (1954 Le Mans Winner) or 0758 250TR (1958 Le Mans Winner) or even 0816 275P (1964 Le Mans Winner) and of course 2737GT 250SWB (1961 Tour de France Winner) amongst others.
But the "baby-blue" striped 250LM was his daily driver for almost 20 years (and he raced it several times in the Mont-Dore Hillclimb races).

Nowadays, he drives more civilised cars like a 456GT and a 550 Maranello (he never registred his F-50 and his Enzo as he uses them on the Mas du Clos track only).
He still have today a Bugatti 35B and a 55.

    Regards.

The story with the Citroën Ambulance with tuned engine is pretty funny aswell. He got fake ambulanceman papers and used the car ar illegal speeds on the highways. Once arrested by the cops he showed the papers saying it's a question of life or death. It has worked everytime...

Totally agreed, it's amazing, last Ferrari to win Le Mans, last front engine car to win Le Mans, etc. And pretty unique among all the Testa Rossas.

I actually don't mind the looks, I just don't find it as pleasing as some of the other 250TR's. But then again, 8-10 Million is enourmous, perhaps even into 250 GTO territory. And from my [hypothetical] point of view the choice is obvious then.
