Up for sale is my fathers ultra rare 1934 Chris Craft wooden boat. 18ft with Midship 6 cylinder 85 hp. Runs great, older restoration from the 1960's. The man who restored it is still alive and in his 90's. He still comes and visits the boat in my fathers barn.

My father has owned the boat for 15 years or so, it has only been in the water maybe 5 times since he purchased it.

All the hardware is ORIGINAL not after market (you can buy replica aftermarket hardware for these boats I am told)

Excuse the horrible pics, for the life of me my father will not take time to take good pics (remember his land-cruiser I had listed for sale? :)

This boat is registered in the Mariners Museum in Newport Virginia as it came from New York.

We have original factory paperwork stating the boat model is 56 series (the most deluxe) and it was completed May 1st 1934 and sent to its first owner in New York we even have the signature from delivery.

In the build sheet we have record of all the additions and custom featured added to the build like a down draft carburetor etc.

Pretty cool boat for the collector. 25K

    Thanks

Oh we would trade for a 911SC coupe :)

My father has the same boat. We restored it a few years ago. He used it a handful of times and now it sits in the garage because he will take it out for an hour and spend the rest of the day cleaning it. The boat gets a ton of attention when you take it out. Good luck with the sale. I would hold onto it.

If I rode motorcycles, it would be a classic Harley. If I owned a boat, it would be one of these classic Chris Craft boats. What a beautiful boat- good luck with the sale and hopefully it moves on to a great owner!

Dang, Jason, I love these boats and $25k seems like an absolute steal for a Chris Craft with a great history...wish I had the space to store it!

Thanks for all the compliments, its really a nice boat and a blast to tool around lake Tahoe on.

The boat is located in Visalia California.

Wish I could grab it up and keep it but its pretty sad when she never sees the light of day. This boat needs to be used... I just noticed the last time it was registered was 2003 :)

My father is downsizing toys, he bought a home in Pismo and told me he is selling everything, buying an 80's 911 and going fishing.

Damn!!! I live by the water and would LOVE one of these! So NOT in the budget though, so I have to pass, but these are GREAT!!!!

    GLWS!

  15. That is fantastic. My Dad had one with a 4 cyl flathead Grey Marine engine. Of the 100 plus cars and boats he has ever owned, he always comes back to that boat. A 6 cylinder is even better. Any pics of the engine & gear shift controls/gauges/dash?

Wow! Of course keep in mind this one is an older restoration and even though its seaworthy and beautiful its not perfect looking... Maybe a little dull compared to those mirror finished boats.

Beautiful boat. I never had one but would see these when I was a kid growing up on Long Island. Always thought I'd get one but my wife hates boats.

    Priced right, should sell quickly.

    BTW...love the name

I sure had a nice time looking those boats over and dreaming of a lifestyle with one of them as a toy. Maybe when I get too old for playing in the ocean we can pick up a place near a good body of fresh water so I can get one! Looks like so much fun!

I am no expert, but go to the Keels and Wheels show every year...

I think $25K is safe money all day long into a machine like this.
I appreciate the chance for a chatter to get a good deal, but before you go further with the sale you might try to get some comps???

Well that's probably a good idea, I will discuss that with my dad, thanks everyone for the honestly and concern..

Some pics, I had my brother take all the pics of flaws he could find, so maybe this needs to be considered based on our asking price,
