Let's just get the record straight here - We are not condoning you going as fast as you can in the Lincoln Tunnel, but this recent Red Bull stunt sure gets our juices flowing for the upcoming NJ Grand Prix.

Former Formula One driver David Coulthard drove the Red Bull Racing Running Show Car through the 1.5 mile Lincoln Tunnel, which connects New York and New Jersey. Coulthard hit incredibly high speeds, no doubt setting the record for the fastest-ever commute through the tunnel.

Cool. Wonder how much they had to pay to rent that out/what time they recorded that at.

Very cool - just not long enough and not enough camera positions. I hope
a longer version comes out at some point.

Speed, drama and THAT skyline. Exactly as Bernie envisioned! That should be a great event!

Yeah, who gives a crap about the racing? We watch formula one for the picture perfect background. Lets scratch off Spa, maybe take Monza off the calendar too....we don't need them as long as Singapore night lights look pretty on a post card.....

The race hasn't even been run yet. No one can doubt the drama provided by the skyline. Im sorry if you dont agree but my post was hardly an attack on you or anything you stand for LOL! Have a nice day :) Forgive my simple observation.....

Why so negative? Singapore street circuit is actually a very challenging track. I raced there twice. And the F1 atmosphere at the city state is FANTASTIC. Looking forward to watching the return of F1 to US.

From the in-car camera, it still looks like they're racing around an abandoned building site for a lot of the race!

You might change your mind if you ever get the opportunity to race there or simply stay there for the race weekend to soak up the atmosphere. I can't wait to race there again next month!

Not saying it's better than Spa or Monza, but boring Singapore F1 is not. :D

I am sorry. I think you misunderstood me. I wasn't taking a dig at you, but at what Bernie envisions. I don't have any problem with a beautiful skyline, but it is not the priority when watching a race. Or it shouldn't be, which unfortunately does not seem to be the case.
There is nothing wrong with Singapore if there was space for 15 races on the calendar and we had only 11 hosts. But when you don't have a race at all in France, where the first GP was held before Singapore was on the map, so we can enjoy the night skyline and the cars are running under lights, so someone can demand more cash for prime time, then we have a problem, because it means that the actual sporting event is not as important as the setting.
We live in an age where we have hundreds of TV chanels, imternet, DVDs, Netflix and plenty more. And when I watch F1 I want to see and hear cars and drivers racing. If I have interest in the skyscrapers in Singapore, Lenin's mausoleum on the Red Square or Manhattan's architecture, I would watch Discovery. I am sure that Dijon '79 was dramatic thanks to the background of the French countryside.
