He's obviously not paying attention here, so I'll share what I know. I think he's expecting to get the car back from the mechanic today, then it has to go off for the body work. The good news is, he can drive it without the body work being done, so I'd guess he'll get to run around in it for the weekend.
Wow, I just read this thread for the first time. For all you have been though I am suprised to see you have kept your spirits high and a sense of humor about the whole ordeal. Looking at your profile picture I had a pretty good laugh Hope everything from here on is smooth sailing and you enjoy your ownership!
Thanks guys for the support! I was waiting to get the car back befor giving any updates. As of Tuesday, Mike from Norwoods said it is looking good for Friday. The last of the interior parts were ready to install Wednesday. My guess is that they want to put it together, detail the interior and give it a good test run. Believe you me, this could compare to getting off crack cold turkey I can not wait to drive the car again. I am considering making it my daily driver but I will make that choice when I get my fix Thanks again for the support guys, Manny Thanks to Tillman for the heads up on this thread!
He has it back (temporarily). Still some detail work to go and it's headed to the body shop for the undercarriage work mentioned above. They did a decent job on the interior, the red carpet looks better than the original. I tried to fit in the back seat -- honestly, I don't know how FarmerDave got in there. My head's against the headliner and the front seat won't sit upright. Side note, never do something that looks dumb when there's a camera nearby Hopefully Manny will post more pics soon. Wow, incredible thread. Get a picture of the Mondi today next to the shrinking Tillman.... Any updates??? BT
Manny doesn't check the board too often, he and the family are doing well, the car is in good order... http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=176705&highlight=weld Here's your updated Tillman picture I'll call Manny to tell him to check in on the thread but no promises!
The red resin (hub center cap?) sticker with the black Cavallino you gave me as a souvie of that trip is prominently affixed to my fridge.
Certainly one of my favorite threads as well. Both the driver and the car rock. A Mondial 8 driven across country is a much more worthy Ferrari than a garage queen Daytona.
Bump. Just because I was reminded of this thread by the Barber museum thread in another section, and I figure there are a lot of newer users who might enjoy reading it. Because someone will probably ask, I'll let everyone know that Manny is doing great, his two beautiful kids keep him really busy. He just doesn't log on to FChat that often. He did sell the car a while back, but drove the snot out of it before he and his wife decided to sell it. He was having a blast at the zoo with his kids when I called him last weekend to catch up.
