Even with all that black on it still looks a tad feminine.
Well, I can't believe I'm saying this, but after spending about 10 minutes on the official California site, this thing is really growing on me. This is always happens. Based on the first photos I saw, I couldn't stand the 360, F430, or the 599, but then I fell in love with all of them shortly after. This car seems no different.
Well... God I hate to say this but, I really think thats kinda cool... Zagato + P4/5 wheels is pretty interesting. _J
Right now it appears that Ferrari is chasing the bottom line, and it seems like it is all that matters for them right now. So I wouldn't be surprised if Ferrari actually produces this SUV monstrosity. I hope that I am wrong though!
The only thing that will save us from this scary joke wearing prancing horses, is the skyrocketing price of gasoline and simultaneous plummet of the value of SUV's in the U.S. Sometimes I still cannot believe that Porsche went there. As an aside, I really wish I was on-board with those of you that say that the new "California" is growing on you.... but it just aint happenin'! I have trouble even calling it the California, when all it immediately brings to mind is the 250, one of the most beautifully classic V-12 roadsters in the history of cars. This car is full of every gimmicky styling trick thats out there, including the copy of the Lexus ISF stacked exhaust and the little front fender vents that now almost every car from the M3 to a Cadillac sedan has. Its not so much that its an ugly design, but Pininfarina certainly didnt dig deep for styling revolution of any kind here. This is made all the worse by considering what a revolutionary car its supposed to be for Maranello. -Trite and boring at best. Ackward and fussy at worst. Thats just my take anyway!
Hey, it wouldn't be a Ferrari if it didn't require an engine out for some service, in this case the back 2 sparkplugs, actually make that the back 4 plugs. Also, leave it to Ferrari to make the first convertible in history that looks better with the top UP. Jimmy
Indeed, the 360 was and is about 10-20% bigger than it need be in every dimension, including weight. A good bit too callipygous too, but it is of a whole, elegant and refined. Quite unlike the ungainly, slapdash, overwrought, vulgar, California 2+ McChimera.
I figured you would have said "a silk hat on a pig." LOL! I think it looks like it was styled by a bunch of high school kids. I want to puke!
Luca says "we'll take the discontinued Maserati SUV, slap a cavallino on it and people will buy the hell out of it! Time for yet another production line!"
That California POS aint no Ferrari,Aint no Dino, aint nothin but a profit point for clueless newbie wannabies suckers who cant see UGLY from reality. The Factory should be ashamed of such a bastard offering, the Commendatore must be sick.Best colors for that crate, dog **** brown, horse **** marrone.
Looks like it has a Start Engine button on the steering wheel and that the display is not a touch screen. It probably cycles through a few fixed formats with a button or changes formats automatically depending on what is going on.
I agree with Way2Fast, it totally has MB SL cues and also some S2000 cues IMO. I never thought this of any other Ferrari. They should have stuck with the traditional 4 pipes across the rear and went with the 4 rear tail lights that is unmistakeably Ferrari.
I heard that this car was designed for the Asian market. They are looking to sell it to women buyers in place of them getting Mercedes SL or BMW. When you look at it from that perpective the design of the car makes sense.
ImO this car was designed by to many peoply with so little reguard for any tradition, it is what it is.... a pig with ear rings... the back looks like 1/2 of a thrown away corvette design..
This car looks uninspiring, looks like an outcast son from Maserati and Hyundai with the blessing of Ferrari priest.
There are a couple passing glimpses between these two videos of the California. Just seeing it go by or passing it - she really does look like a cool little sports car. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JSGwhql5oyE&feature=related <- - - 0:48 http://youtube.com/watch?v=V4BXaayj6go&feature=related Maybe red is just not its color - seriously... The sliver job in the second video makes the car look far sexier IMO. _J
