Who cares, there are plenty of exceptionally quick Vipers too, the 2JZs block doesnt need to be touched to make high #s, thats the beauty of the car

 

umm NO , anyone with any sense could see ( via incar view) that the Supra wasnt 1000+whp, just listen to the engine accelerate, its pretty basic stuff

Why would anyone with a BPU Supra try and race a Mclaren F1?. Getting embarrassed isn't anything to brag about.

Also the driver wasn't that good because he spun his tires and also was grannyshifting the whole time. And also the qualtiy of the video wasn't that great.

 

Well a Supra's engine block is good enough to around 700-800hp stock before the block needs to be modified.

 

That supra had to be making atleast 1200-1300hp atleast!.

I have seen a few 1000hp Supra videos and they don't even sound like that. Nor move like that.lol

 

To show a comparison between the 2, why did top gear race a Skyline GTR against the F1?

 

I dont know enought about Supras to be able to tell you your wrong, however im 99 percent sure you are.

 

Its making 950hp afaik, many in the 800+ horsepower range sound like that

They have been known to hold that much but generally people replace internals around 600's.

 

But that wasn't Top Gear.....

 

There was a guy in Orlando that had ~1,000hp at the flywheel on stock internals. Can't remember his name, but the Supra was red. I believe it is now sold.

 

I feel bad for the guy who bought it. It can't last long.

Record for a stock longblock with cams is 1017whp.

Yeah...I think I had the record for a stock Viper "creampuff" at 865WHP. But that was good for the dyno run only. Came apart a week later.

 

Speaking of Vipers and Supras. Here is a recent Vid of a Bad AZZ Viper and equally Bad Supra. The race was from a 70 roll...up to 180. Note the chase car. GTO putting out 600+whp.

The stang puts out 1100rwhp on boost alone on his old turbo and who knows how much on bottle. Jesues was running like 10's at 140 in it. Jesus would only race him at the track cuz Willys car is set up for roll racing. Its got a Viper T-56 with a 3.31 rear end if I rember right. The car has trapped as high as 140 on pump gas.

modified Viper is cryptonite to a modified Supra.

From a standstill it would have been embarrsing for the Supra.
