    Hi,
Today I have an TUBI exhaust on my car.

Thinking of getting rid of the stock Catalyst.

Would you go for 100 cel race cat or 200 cel sport cat?

Have been looking on the tubi 200 cel, EVOFlo and others.

Will you get problems with the 100 cel catalyst and CEL?

I have heard that 100 cell are not as efficient as 200 cell for emissions but that is just third or fourth hand information  ........... I have done flow tests between 300 cell and various metallic 200 cell cats (including hyper-flow) ..... the 200 cell cats flowed significantaly better than the 300 cell ........ that said, the 200 cell cats flowed very well ... if I recall correctly, the 200 cell were within 3-5% of the straight pipe used for testing them alone ....... :)

Did not test the fabspeed cats, as I did not have any on hand. If they are true metallic 200 cell cores, then the flow should be quite good. The hyper-flows fell right about 4% ...... with some of the others better and some worse ......... the 300 cell cats were at about 15% restriction from a straight pipe.

AFAIK 100 cell will not pass emissions, at least here in VA. I had to get 200 cell cats on my 996tt when I had it.

    Terrible...
The new, not so stainless, cat's were @100 mm while the inside of the oem cat's are 125-ish...
I made a stainless sleave for the cartridge and a reducer for the diverence in diametre.
    Care to see pics?

    Regards. Ben.

I installed 200 cell cats in my 348, and it rocks man!

I used a pair from Magnaflow (ref: 59906) 2.5" inlet/outlet and they work great. So for 220€ shipped they are a bargain. If you are using the stock exhaust, maybe you should use 2.25" (ref: 59905). It will need some welding, but will be an easy work for any exhaust workshop.

Here is my thread, you can see the making proccess of my 348's custom exhaust with those 200 cell cats:

I swapped out my 300 for 200 cell versions. Pretty cool. Nicer sound, a bit more aggressive. Makes the engine sound like it has more CC's than it does.

I barely passed smog with the 300 version. Can't wait for the new test on the 200's. I will revert to stock chips when I need the test in January. No sense risking it.
