Does anyone have opinions or experience contrasting the two in terms of level of detail and quality? Thanks.

Both quite similiar as in theyre both very detailed, i only have IXO's at the moment but i've seen that the 1:43 Kyosho Diablo's have Engine detail which in a 1:43 is pretty ****in good.

    depends on the type.

If you compare a 1:43 IXO 512 Codalunga to a 1:43 Tecnomodel Codalunga, the IXO one is pretty good. Considering the Tecnomodel is about ten times more expensive.

I have both Enzo's and the Kyosho is worth the price difference if it is one of your favorites and will be displayed somewhere such as a desk. If it's going into a cabinet next to the rest of a collection, get the Ixo and spend the extra $ on one of there other Ferrari's. I have about 12 IXO F-cars and have yet to be dissapointed.

I only have 2 of the Kyoshos, but all of the Ferraris made by IXO (about 44 of them).

    - The Kyosho is probably a little more detailed and comes in a heavier, higher quality plastic container and a thick nice 2-piece cardboard box.
    - Kyosho has a limited number of releases scheduled of street cars that are not too unusual (some of the colors are). Very nice quality but Enzo, F40, 355, 360 again. IXO started that way, but have really spread out with the LeMans cars and Mondials, 328s, 456, 612 China cars, FXX, etc.
    - IXO has some truly unique historic cars that no one else makes. Detail may be slightly less, but you will not find them anywhere else.

I am getting the GTO and F40 from Kyosho, but will keep getting all of the IXO.

Am I missing something here? Do the Kyosho 1:43's not have opening parts making it better choice?

I was wondering about the same comparison because I have a bunch of IXO and have no complaints especially with the price. No kyosho 1:43's yet.

am I correct to assume that neither are limited editions?

Never noticed any numbering on either brand, but the new black IXO Enzo appears to be numbered. I get most of my models on Ebay, and have paid 10-17 avg. for IXO F-cars and high 30's for Kyosho.
