Okay thanks for checking. It had bugged me for an entire week now I feel somewhat better, something for me to mod in the future (I wonder if Kyosho sells spare parts). Now if only I can find the owner of this car to tell me if his have latch cables at the doors lol!

By the way I found out that some details were omitted on the box, like the seats sit on actual rails and can be moved fore and back, the shift lever can be moved, and the sun visors can be folded down like the real thing.

I bought a few weeks ago the Tamiya Enzo in Nero Black. Only my right door is a little bit out of shape. It doesn't close really properly, it's maybe 1/2 mm outside of the car when it's closed. Does anybody else had these problems with this particular car??

normaly it will be ok, perhaps you have broken the little part of plastic
in the back of the door, in this case it won t be closed everytime.

i m refering to the plastic in the back of door when you closed the door this
piece must to be enter inside the little hole you ve got in back the interior car. in black version it looks not very well but it exist, look at it carefully.

No, that part is still on the car. I'm able to close my door, and it's stays down. Only I think the door is a little bit out of shape, I don't know how. Probably I'll send the car to repair it.

    Thanks anyway!!

    Hi,

I've been following this thread for quite sometime now. It's very informative and a great place to find reference too. Besides, I'm amazed there are so many 1/12 'freaks' (if I may use this word) if compared to my humble collection. Here is my fairly limited collection of 1/8 to 1/12:
    - Pocher 1/8: Testarossa and F40
    - Tamiya 1/10: Golf MKIII and MKIV (r/c models)
    - Robbe 1/10: Testarossa (r/c model)
    - Tamiya 1/12: Enzo
    - Kyosho 1/12: F40

I try to limit my collection to Fcars only, as too many variety will dent my pocket too much. However, there are occations when I can't resist the temptation...

Sorry, I dont' have any pic for some of them but will post them if I have the chance to do so. Some are located abroad which makes it harder for me to take pics of them.

    Anyhow, greatings !

slk99 - great stuff you got !!! Just wonder who your contacts are in HK....
christian - you are getting to match slk99's collection some day...:)
the rest - amazing stuff too

Lex, I had the same problem with the bonnet of my first Tamiya Enzo except it was about 2mm up so really quite bad. My doors are fine but front right suspension is collapsed due to a black pin snapping off so wheel sits in the arch.

I'm not entirely sure what you can do about the gap, have you just rcently bought it as you may be able to send it back, just be wary about receiving another though that may have the same or a different issue. Fingers crossed.

    Regards,

    Matthew

    Hi Christian,

    Hows things?

I'm fine, looking forward to Thursday as I'm finishing work for Christmas and New year. Staying in Scotland fo it so hopefully get some snow etc.

What are you doing for Christmas and New year?

I have not bought anything since i got the Carrera GT some time ago. The Gallardo is still not available in the UK as yet so I may hold off for a while as its the Murcielago roadster I'm really after. I saw the yellow Diablo Michael posted, lovely isnt it. Maybe I'll get one, I'm not sure, I really sshould as its the car I will be buying sometime so best buy now rather than later.

    Regards,

    Matthew

    Hi Matthew,

Does Tamiya exchange cars?? If so, where can I contact them to (hopefully) replace my car/door. Some of the quality of Tamiya is sometimes pretty bad. You pay hypes for a modelcar, en things are not working or broken.

Thank you very much for you information. Hopefully you can help me out with this one aswell.

    Kind Regards,

    Lex

Sure makes you wonder why they can command such a high price.

Personally I've seen all kinds of problems with most diecast manufacturers; Kyosho (alot of messed up paint jobs on 1/18s, hood won't close properly on my F40 Lightweight which I exchanged for a decent one), Tamiya (misaligned hood with the front bumper and wobbly brake assembly on my F50 but it was the last one and I paid significantly less than retail), Autoart (leftover glue, misapplied decals and photoetched parts mostly on their first generation models post UT Models), Exoto (misaligned wings and wheels, messed up paint on engines), Minichamps (broken decals), and Burrago (misaligned decals) just to name a few.

The store owners will love to tell you "Oh I've sold over a hundred of these never a problem". Yea sure! Well everytime I present them with a defective diecast they get all upset but at the end have to accept it cuz it'll make them look bad in front of the other customers inside the store at the time once I fault them for not letting me check inside the box before I fork out the dough.

Overall I like Minichamps best, once they moved to tempo printing their models get the least problems. I have the most problems with Kyosho, but their details are just so breathtaking for the price you pay and once you find the right one.

Me too. I had a problem with a broken front suspension on my Kyosho 1/12 F40 Lightweight. In addition, the wipers of my 1/18 Kyosho 308 and 328 GTB all broke off easily.

On a different note, has anyone heard when AutoArt will be coming out with their YELLOW 1/12 Gallardo?

    Lex,

I'm not sure about Tamiya exchanging them, I sent back two to a supplier in the UK and promised never to use them again, not that it was even their fault but the whole thing cost me £600 to get a third which was still not right.

If i was you, I would contact the supplier if its not been long since you purchased it, otherwise i think you may have to bite the bullet unfortunately like me :(
