'08 Gumball coming to SF

North Korea??? Are you serious? I was at the start of the Gumball rally when they had it at the Fairmont Hotel a few years ago. I'm sure this will be another awesome event. Won't be joining though...

Very cool, the gumball is how I saw my first (european series 1) elise in person back in 02/03

 

I've never seen the Gumball run take place, so hopefully I could make it out to see the start. When does it start and where in SF?

The yellow M3 video that I saw was the year before, the new york to LA(?) run. That's how I heard about gumball and why I went to SF in 03.

He may have run again in 03, but I thought he was doing the players run instead (cheaper), but that was years ago so I have probably forgotten

 

When the CHP finds the routes… personal best and record breaking “non quota” averages are going to go way up.

It always cracked me up. There’s no “quotas” because that’s illegal, but there are daily and weekly averages used to calculate estimated income from tickets. My uncle was a street cop for years, he always said “there were no written quotas but there were always personal bests and department goals”

That would awesome but if the rally starts on the 8th, that’s a Friday by Friday night they should be in LA.

 

...it would sure suck to get lost in North Korea.

 

I don't know about that. Do you really want a bunch of guys doing burnouts, getting arrested and in general causing a scene and ruining SR for everybody else? Watching gumball is cool and I remember meeting Fred when he had the TTx50 done by GIAC etc but I don't think it's a good idea.
