Wasn’t Apple building a car at one point?
Thanks, John. Your opinion is worth a lot! You made the point that I somehow missed. Using a sports analogy, being good at swimming the butterfly doesn’t necessarily make one good at holing a 60’ putt or tending goal. Newson and Ive are successful in making clever designs, but are they good at doing beautiful designs? As I said before, Ferraris should be dramatic and emotional, not necessarily efficient and rational. They aren’t appliances……or least they shouldn’t be.
You make a lot of good points. I think Ferrari has been listening to their customers and this is a good thing. They decided to reach out to the most successful industrial designer alive today to see what he can come up with. As you probably know, what Ive has been successful at is producing products with human interaction in mind and how humans use products and then creating a design with human use engineering in mind. Ive may only be contributing interior design, which would be in his target while others are doing exterior design. We will see. https://luxurylaunches.com/transport/john-ive-to-redesign-electric-ferrari-steering-wheel-09272024.php
... but you would, without a doubt, do better than the 13 year-old anime enthusiast "designing" Ferraris for last few years.
