To add, regardless of performance which we all know rarely gets used in every day driving, the 296 sounds awesome which is half the reason I buy a car anyways. I think it’s a great car

If the race was a mile, the SF90 would catch back up and be gone.

I laugh because who cares after a mile. I mean honestly, it’s just a common sense thing to me. I’m guessing some SF90 owners are somewhat disappointed and think they got robbed. Paid extremely high price for something that basically has the same performance as a car by same brand that is half the price and sounds better. I would be a bit irritated by that too. It’s also going to happen with the Temerario. When considering price, performance, thrill to drive and sound, the 296 to me is the better car. But, that’s my opinion. Can’t wait to see a 296 vs Temerario race!!!

Both are fast. Sometimes one is maybe smidge faster than the other depending on who you ask. This the gist?

  8. The gist is that the 296 is the fastest Ferrari per dollar.

There is no better performance per dollar car from any current production Ferrari.

Almost new it’s even better. GTB’s start a little under $300K for a virtually new car. And they aren’t just fast, they’re fun.

9 out of 10 times NO! The SF90 is the quicker car.

And it’s a rounding error. One is less nimble, sounds meh and makes a better paperweight.

These cars are hardly driven, especially the SF90’s. The SF90 has a better presence, hence the better paperweight. IMO

    My apologies for upsetting you.

I am not upset at all. If you believe that Ferraris are not being driven, then they all are paperweights. It is sad if that is the case over there.

One may argue, in the real world, who cares after a quarter mile - for a red light contest (no that I care, actually) the SF90 wins easily because it reaches 40 kph in 0.7s while the 296 needs 1.1s.
The funny thing is, as far as standing start is concerned, the 296 apparently accelerates more just around the quarter mile mark - regaining ground before, and building up more speed, temporarily.
After 1 km the SF90 is already pulling away, since it reaches 300kph before crossing the line while the 296 arrives just 0.4s later but has not yet reached 300kph.
The reality is that both cars are very fast though.

Simple physics , drive from four wheels will plant the vehicle better and give you better acceleration, just look at rally cars for proof

More than likely it’s due to the weather that particular day (Density Altitude or D/A). If they had a SF90 at the same track at the same time, the SF90 probably would have been a little faster. I’ve owned and love both so I’m not biased at all. They are both very fast. It’s just that the SF90 is typically faster more often and in more situations, especially from a dead stop on a non-prepped surface. It’s also typically faster around a road course.

You obviously didn’t read the article. This new Porsche model is faster than the Plaid and the Lucid.
