My dealer has arranged a factory visit for me, I have not been since pre covid and it looks like the tours have changed.

If you have attended a recent factory tour, could you please give me feedback on your experience from the different tours? I am able to chose from the following:

    • FACTORY TOUR (pretty much the same as the old general visitor tour)
    • TAILORED FACTORY TOUR (4 hours)
    • DESIGN FACTORY TOUR (5 hours) (my preference)
    • SPECIAL VERSION FACTORY TOUR (6 hours)

    Thank you in advance!

I haven’t had any recent experience (2009) but if Classiche is included in one of those tours that’s the one I’d recommend.

Ferrari has published a nice 20 page brochure regarding the factory tours. Your dealer should have at least a PDF. We did the normal "Factory Tour" in October, which was pretty much the same as in the years before (now including the GT Sporting activities). Next time we will pick a different one - not because it was bad, but in order to see different things.
My feeling was that everything is now a bit more professional, but also with more time management (not necessarily a good thing). So we did not had a visit in the museum - maybe we have asked so many questions before that we ran out of time. Instead they handed out tickets to go to the museum ourselves.

I'll attach the main information from that brochure.

Are all of the tours available to anyone who’s a Ferrari owner?
    Thanks.

The brochure is stating "factory tours are reserved to clients and F1 sponsors only".

Ferrari introduced a new platform mystore.ferrari.com, where the Experience Manager at each dealer can book the tours way more easily than in the last years. As a private person you are missing out a user-ID on this platform. So you have to book via a dealer.
My Experience Manager said she only booked the normal tour yet - so no experience with the other ones. Nevertheless, my understanding is that every owner can book all available tours for himself (and bring friends along). Maximum number of participants per group is 4. So you shall not have more than 3 friends. ;-)

As this seems to be of bigger interest, let me see if I can upload the whole brochure.

Thank you, I received the brochure in its entirety from my dealer last week.

We are swaying towards the design tour, I'm skeptical that a fair portion of the stated 5 hour duration is spent on traveling and lunching in Modena - activities which we are perfectly capable of handling ourselves. Hence my questions.

As a side note, here are the prices that your dealer is invoiced for the tours, per person:

    Factory tour: €110
    Design tour: €250
    Tailored tour: €350
    Special Version tour: €600

I don't know how different dealers handle this. I've told mine we are fine with paying for this ourselves as it's not in combination with a configuration or collection.

Owners only, has to be booked via the CRM system of the dealer and attached to a client card.

Can confirm this. We have been charged 100€ per person for the standard factory tour plus local tax (19% german tax in my case).

For my first factory tour in 2017, I was invited by a dealer. This time we were paying ourselves, as we neither collect or configure a new car. So same as you. But everybody got a small present at the end (for people who need a buiness case here). Don't want to spoil what it is but it's easy to guess.

I've toured several times over past 15 years and never was invoiced for it! SMH, guess they've decided to monetize everything. Hopefully, they've at least enhanced the experience vs the rushing a group of 20-25 through the factory before letting you loose in the museum.

I've only ever toured AMG in Affalterbach & Sindelfingen and they get an A+ for the customer-focused experience with 1-1 tour guide.

To my knowledge in all recent years, the dealer has been invoiced for the tour in the region of €150. Same way they have been invoiced per person visiting the Ferrari stand at a motorshow or a test drive at an event. (Example: my dealer was invoiced €60 per client Ferrari registered every year at GIMS, and they were invoiced €500 for what was a very short test drive of the Cali T I did at the Finali Mondiali in 2015). But this is another topic.

    Design your.

Was at the factory Sept 9. Fantastic. They just codified the tours and made different ones by request.

Only owners and sponsors as was mentioned can book tours. FCA and presumably other organizations can book for owners. Not sure about cost for invoices etc.
Owners can reach out through Ferrari customer service as well.

    Enjoy.

I have been on a factory tour many times, but these new variations really sound different. I also haven't been charged for a factory tour, but I wonder if dealers will cover a 600 Euro Special factory tour.

I've been several times, and its always special. I would do lunch on your own... that way you can control the timing. Montana is great - but simple - I want to go to the new Cavallino by Boutura.

Well, the interior is the same and so is the menu, but for sure, if you have never been to the Cavallino, you must go there. At least the location is the same...

I don't have a problem paying for a factory tour.

I haven't tried yet, but I am getting the impression the goalposts keep moving! Now that I am a Ferrari owner, having a VIN is no longer good enough, it seems as though I now need to buy a new Ferrari.

The last time I was in Italy, I just showed up at the Lamborghini factory, toured the museum, and enquired about a factory tour. They did not have any English tours, but let me tag along on a Japanese tour for 1/2 price (for like 10 euros or something). We walked along the assembly line and got to see crankshafts being machined, etc. For a mechanical engineer, it was awesome and made me a Lamborghini fan.

I'm a foodie so yes. I have been to Osteria Franchescana in Modena - and its really good ... its not your typical modenese restaurant... but it is amazing. very artsy. I have seen the menu at Cavallino and it looks fantastic...

Disagree. No, you MUST NOT go there. Besides being a total rip-off the food is absolutely terrible.
Rather go to Montana, super friendly, not arrogant, true Ferraristi and excellent cooks. Mamma Rossella is incredible.

I have not been since the change over, But I have been to Cavallino in the past a bunch of times - I have had good and very bad meals.... Montana is good - but its just basic home cooking. Bottura is an excelent chef and I would expect the food to be way better than before - but completely different. If you expect Montana like food - yes, i can see why its thought to be a rip off. Italians have not taken to traditional food being changed like Bottura has done...

I 100% agree, that it is a rip-off and the food is terrible... I expressed this opinion even here right after they opened doors. But if you have never been to Maranello probably you must go there only once, only because of the location, nothing else. After all, on the place of this ugly red restaurant with yellow McDonalds seats and without real racing memorabilia was once the place, that Enzo made his lunch. That is the only reason to go there if it is your first time in Maranello. This was my absolutely favorite place and I was there twice per day every time that I was in Maranello and now it is totally and absolutely ruined which makes my trips very different than before, unfortunately.

As for Montana - there are some things I don't like there also, but anyway... most of the times I eat either in the Beer Stop near the Museum (where food comes almost immediately and it is also super cheap) or if I want a restaurant I go to Carisma near the town hall in the center of the city.
