Hi all, Not sure if this is the right place for this post, but I am trying to find out if anyone owns or knows of a very unusual F355 GTS that was for sale on FB marketplace (of all places) about a year ago. The car was in Boston. Unfortunately I did not get the VIN number, but it was TDF blue, had a bordeaux red interior and steering wheel, carbon bucket seats, F1 trans, and about 20k miles on it. I think it was a 1999. 355 registry shows a possible VIN ZFFXR42A??0 and SN 115639 but I wasn't able to locate much beyond that. It was being sold by a small dealership who indicated it had gone to Pennsylvania from Massachusetts but that is all I know. I didn't want to pester them about it too much but it was such a peculiar spec and color combo, I haven't been able to stop thinking about it for a year and would love to know where it ended up! I should have saved the photos and VIN but for some reason didn't. Perhaps it wasn't meant to be. Any information is appreciated. Happy New Year. Thanks, Nik
It was stunning! I am kicking myself for not saving any of the pictures. The carbon buckets wrapped in red leather were unreal. VERY striking car. Sounds like you have a gem yourself!

Thank you for sharing those. What a unique looking car. A true beauty! I’m going to reach out to the dealer that had this one and see if they still have the pictures. It looks very similar to yours.
Ha! I a actually have almost this one, but a GTS in TDF blue over Cuoio leather. I figured if I couldn’t swing a real one this would do lol. Those resin 1/12 scale models are actually pretty sweet if you’re into that sort of thing.
Hey Nik! I can't stop thinking about that car either. I took photos and saw it in person a few times. I was serious but couldn't get financing to work. It will always be the one that got away until it's back on the market. Then it will just be too expensive the way F355 prices have been climbing. Was listed for $89K all in. Here's the vin: ZFFXR42A7W0111026 Will be on the look out!
Wow! Thanks Sam! I thought it was lost forever. Well, it may still be, but at least someone else saw it and can confirm it was real. Thanks for the VIN too, that's huge. I actually called the little dealership it was at after I started this thread to ask the guy for pictures. He never did get back to me but I was pretty clear it wasn't of much importance. He was EXTREMELY helpful when they had the car, even called me to let me know it had sold, and offered to give my contact info to the new owner who I think he said is in PA. Agreed, it does feel like that "one that got away" and I don't often feel that way about cars. Such a unique spec. Very cool. Did you drive it? Was it as clean as it looked? It had been serviced very recently right there in Boston and appeared to be turn key. About the only thing I would personally want to swap was the very red steering wheel. Carbon buckets looked incredible too. Would you be interested in uploading your photos if you have them? I should have grabbed everything from the listing but didn't before it was pulled down. Thanks again for the reply. Please keep in touch if you hear of it, I will do the same. Regardless of whose hands it ends up in it would be really cool to see it with a forum member and learn how it's doing - like a long lost relative lol.
It's good to know someone else out there appreciates it! When I took a friend to see the car with me his response was "Why don't you just get a red one." Also, that I would never get to go on vacation again if it ever breaks... If in a pinch those rare carbon fiber seats could pay for two engine out services! Hopefully the new owner will take good care of it - maybe even swap the paddles for a gate? Here's what I know about the car: It was sold new at Miller Motor Cars as a custom order. It was very clean on the outside. Some leather stretching in the interior - and an odd what seems like aftermarket arm rest in the center console. It drove like new (although I did not drive it myself). I saw it 2 or 3 times when it was being worked on in Ferrari NE. It started very smooth and had a Tubi exhaust. I think I have the original pictures and some of my own. But trying to collect them all before posting. Did you get the new owner's contact in PA? Would be interested in contacting them... And there she is! Beautiful. Just perfect. Thanks so much for uploading that. Oddly enough I had a similar reaction from a friend I showed the pictures too. I immediately changed the subject because I felt it such a ridiculous response and am still a little put off by it even today haha. Based on your description it sounds like it was pretty much as gorgeous as it appeared in the photos. Really kicking myself now. I unfortunately didn't get the new owners' name (didn't ask either). The salesman says he gave them my contact info which I had provided to him, so who knows. I probably overplayed my hand already by asking him for those pictures like a year later but if I get really desperate I may call back and see what he will reveal. Such an amazing, oddly-spec'd machine. And those seats! Truly works of art. Thanks again for the picture. Looking forward to seeing more if you can find them.
Sadly I can't find the original listing anywhere in my cache. Here are photos I took in September 2020. I don't like posting too much about a car that's not for sale (hence redacted back plate) ... Hopefully we can learn more about this fascinating spec by sharing this post! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
What is that huge piece at the center console? Haven't seen that before. Not sure I like the complete red interior including the steering wheel, but love the red over black contrasting pieces.
Exactly. When I saw it I was surprised but having sat in a few F355s (and feeling like my right elbow had nowhere to rest) I understand why it would have been added. Just not sure how they got the matching so perfect. It must have come from the factory like that. Whoever originally ordered this car went all out (I think the original window sticker had $40K in options which at the time was a lot). Would love to know the story if you're out there!
Sweet! Great pictures. And yes, agree completely about not exposing it too much. It would be great if the owner decides to chime in though. Would love to know where she ended up.
The wheel definitely gave me the most pause. As I recall that was a $500 option just to have the wheel red and I would gladly save the money to keep it black.
Me too. You've successfully revived this thread with these great photos so maybe we will learn something after all. If nothing else, people will be more informed.
Ha. This is funny...this is the car I regret not buying. But at that time, I wanted to find a nice manual example first, then buy an F1. I wish I had bought it...I stared at the ad for over a month. I just really really really wanted a manual first at the time. Now that I have my current car, I think back to how I should have just bought this one too since it was quite the deal for a unique spec car.
Right there with you! As more of us come out of the woodwork hopefully we can get a response from whoever out there is currently taking care of her. That being said I know that I would not have been the best owner to give her what she needed at the time (F1 pump/manual swap, upcoming major service, sorting out minor electrical issues etc) but hopefully when the time is right the TDF/Bordeaux car will reappear! I agree with what many have said on here already: There have been many cars (Ferraris and others) that I regret not leveraging myself for financially for but this one stands out because of how unique it is.
