Hey guys My A/C sh#t it's self so i had it rebuilt i refitted it and tried to engage the comp as we were re-gassing it but the comp would not kick in. Fuse and relay behind the seat and main A/C fuse nxt to battery all good but still no power to the comp. Is there a mystery fuse some where else along the line. TIA
Compressor clutch will not engage if not enough gas pressure, try a temporary link wire on the pressure switch mounted at the drier. This will get it running if that switch is not made due low gas pressure. If this does not work check for power at the connector at the compressor clutch
Is that the pressure switch at the drier, i dont have a 360 so dont know that setup. I would normally only expect 2 wires , thats why i ask if you have the right switch. test the pressure crudely by using a small screwdriver to press down the schrader valve(by the brake fluid reservior) a little bit to see if r134a is coming out. It should be having a big noise like you are deflating a tire. If you don't have enough pressure then your ac ecu won't give power to the compressor
According to the wiring diagrams, it's blue and orange/white on the middle wires. i.e. pin 2 and 5 (pin 1 is unused) Wiring diagram here https://www.dropbox.com/t/gnz3XSmL0grAyFrc i.e. item 21B If you remove the plug and jumper the wires, just be aware that this will inhibit the radiator fans.
I jumped the 2 wires on the pressure switch and glad to say that my comp is now engaging. Thanks to all you guys for your help much appreciated.
Running the compressor without gas is bad for the compressor, which is why that switch is there. So this needs to be determined.
Best to get a gas charging set with the suction and discharge gauges on, that will give you the gas pressure in the system. When the compressor has been off for a while the 2 gauges will read the same. Once running the suct will drop and discharge rise. If you do not have enough gas in system then the pressure switch will operate to protect the compressor by stopping it. ( hence the need to link it out to get gas into system.)
