I acknowledge Hamilton as a great driver but I would think that he would be able to extract something extra out of his car like Alonso has done when at Ferrari, as Charles and Sainz do with their Ferrari and as Max is currently doing and as he has done in previous years. His Merc is not that far off the pace of the RB his talent should be able to make up the deficit and then some.

 

We can agree to disagree if you think Hamilton enjoyed a 1 sec advantage the majority of the last 7 years, even though you have no numbers to prove this. You would need to find nearly 200 races of 1 sec advantage to make this true. You can't.

It doesn't matter as it relates to Redbull at this point. Max is currently in the best car, most the narrative has been if you win in the best car your achievements are diminished. Redbull doesn't have to do things exactly as Merc did it. Best car means best car. That's all that was required for the narrative.
