Rear view is beautiful and love the nod to the past. Front is very conservative…probably because everyone on F-chat trashed Manzoni’s SF90 design!
As I mentioned twice before this thread I didn’t believe this could ever replace the F8 as it just came out and glad that isn’t happening
Things I like: The rear 3/4 view and side view The tail lights (even if they look like sunglasses) The new glass over the engine with a flat "Dino-like" rear window The power / weight ratio The 800+ HP from only 2.9L Its smaller Things that are OK: The front view does not stand out Things I don't like The livery on the performance version. Maybe it was the colors they picked but to me it was fugly!
WOW! Just WOW! Simply stunning! After the ugly F8 Ferrari is back agian with a very beautiful and sporty-elegant design language! Great work! Love it!
It’s not too bad (rear is best angle to me) but I will likely pass due to the V6 and pick up one of the last V8’s so this isn’t a 488 model replacement then? does this mean there will be a new car coming later which is mid engine and in between the 296 and SF90 ??
yes I read that, I had to really search for it on Ferraris website. I sort of figured they’d claim straight line performance that would best the 765 given the 800+ hp. Only .3 seconds quicker than a Pista to 124…..
Front is a combination of the F8 and SF90. The rear looks sleek. Not a big fan of the look of the exhaust. Overall the design will not deter the die hards from purchasing it but it is not sufficiently exciting to encourage those on the fence to buy it. The performance will need to be exceptional and " fun to drive", for this car to be compelling.
It will replace the F8. As soon as the F8 is out of production, the 296 GTB will be the new "V8-line".
The back is really nice. Front ok, but I don't like the visor shape design of the roof and windshield area. The best thing to me is the sound of that V6, though !!!
They didn't show the interior much but to me it looked like it still had a mechanical rev counter instead of a graphic display. If so, I like it better.
Fantastic start to the V6 line gutted the most important point was missed (DINO) even if the engine had been brand Ferrari Dino just something small but other wise love her
296 gtb is the natural opponent of the v6 hybrid mclaren artura, not of the 765lt Anyway the sf90 AF was tested at 6.3s 0-124 vs 6.7 on paper, so is reasonable to think that the 296gtb can do a bit better than claimed...
It weighs quite a bit more than the 765LT, with the weight savings from the V6 more than offset by battery pack, electric motors, and aluminum structure.
I believe the presenter referred to all digital instruments, unfortunately. Sent from my SM-G781U1 using Tapatalk

The car designer in me will wait to see the car in person, way to hard to tell about presence, proportions, form and tension from photos. There are definitely some extremely nice details, but then there is a bunch of not so nice, including the SF90 style generic face and oversized rear view mirrors. Wheels are SO MUCH better and overall stance looks planted and nice.
I honestly cannot quibble about 'performance' -- (1) this car is not intended to be a rocketship. (2) none of us are F1 drivers and could extract even 90% of the potential from the current road cars. So why not make it a kick-in-the-butt fun to drive, and forget about overall top speed, 'ring times, and 0-100k smokey launches ? I have more fun in my dinky Alfa Spider than just about anything else - because it's engaging to drive. I don't care if a Chrysler Minivan is faster. I want to feel connected to the road. I'll bet the 296 does it in spades.
