Bummer Ian, do you think the hit into the tyre wall did this or natural fatigue?
That’s Tough Ian, there are plenty of excellent metal fabricator/ engineers in the Penrith area, worth a google perhaps get a part made
Only 4 bolts hold the back half of the car to the front half - it's a non trivial part and is not only designed to carry loads but also will be made from a specific grade of aluminium. I'd prefer to have one made by March, but if not I have a very good fabricator/engineer in Windsor, Precision One Off Engineering.
Bummer. I would think the alloy tech is better nowadays - was 7075-T6 around then? Even that's probably old tech now.
Oh crap Ian…If Dad was around easy fix…Might be worth calling P Simms as he’s still in the know with surviving old Skool fabricators….
