It’s a pretty broad range, which (to me) suggests an uncertain market. Many sellers are pricing where cars were selling three years ago.

If it were me, I’d also suggest a broad range, say $350k to $400k.

Reserve is a completely different matter, and it depends on if you really want to sell the car.

Personally, I’m waiting for prices to come back down, and when they do I’ll buy again.

Keep waiting, they won't come down much.
If a car doesn't sell at auction it automatically gets a bad reputation. Not recommended.
Everybody will scratch their head, and ask if there's anything wrong with the car and why it didn't sell.
No need to simply test the market, that would be stupid.

    My 2 cents.

    I’m patient.

If they don’t come down much, at least I’ve enjoyed owning a Columbo V-12 for several years.

And may still buy a Daytona. Or if I’m feeling crazy, a 275, either spider or belinetta.

Marcel, would you go no reserve, or do you think that is too far in the other direction? Sometimes no reserve can generate a bunch of interest, but I suppose it can also create doubts in the mind of bidders.

Looking at the market last month it was around $200k-300k for what was available. BaT didn't go over $280k for the past couple of years. All of those were drivers and needed work. I don't see them dropping below $200k in the future.

Platinum-winning, no stories 330GT I'd put at the same range of $350-400k. Reserve at $325k.

    Pictures? Serial number?

To generate interest I'd have a full video made of exterior/interior/driving characteristics. It only helps. I've been consuming all this information since the 2+2's piqued my interest.

Image Unavailable, Please Login Looking at the excitement around 1980s AMGs and other 80-2000 cars I am wondering if the pool of buyers for our 330s is not on the downward slope. 330s will remain desirable prime cars for sure, but not sure their appeal is going on the right direction.
Note to OP, there is still some time left fo enjoy our cars though!!

Interesting provenance but definitely in need of more than just interior TLC.
Had my last 2+2 in 1995. I do think the current market is soft on these cars. We shall see.
Sold the last one in 1997 for $25K and was glad to get it. How times have changed.

Only made $220k this time, RNM. Seems about right to me, and I actually don't mind the condition. In my opinion, the seller should have taken the money.

So if this was your car and you had, let’s say, $350K “invested” in it, but couldn’t afford to loose the difference or wouldn’t need to sell it at loss, would you “have taken the money” ?
    Just curious.

Fair question. My guess is that it's not going to be worth much, if any, more in the next 5-10 years (possibly less-- I could easily see that car sliding down to the $150k range), and I think the market has spoken on it's value today. Wishful thinking or how much I have sunk into it really isn't relevant.

So if I needed or wanted to sell it (and why bother going through the hassle to list it on BaT unless I need or want to sell it), then yes. I don't think the seller is going to net more in another venue, such as a live auction. And there would be significant expenses in getting it to auction, fees, etc so that even a higher gavel price would result in less actual money to the seller.

Depends on whether you needed the cash or not. Anything above $300k will have to be a very nice example, inside and out. This was not in that league. They didn't bother to even replace the broken mirror glass.

Someone paid $260k for it 2 years ago. I'm assuming they have another $5-10k in it. I think $220k was a good price for the condition.

That BaT car now has a very unappetizing and very public history.

The buyer decided he didn’t want it, or that it wasn’t worth restoring. And now it’s unsold at a discount bid.

I was surprised it came up for auction in the same condition in which it was bought off of BaT in 2019.

The dealership that has it for sale (Bond Group) has some very nice cars pass through their hands. This one is a head scratcher as to why they didn't just list it and what they expected to get for it.

$225K tops for that car, as interesting as it is. I was surprised the seller didn't take the $220K high bid.
They want 250 for it on their website.

I saw the listing on RM. Probably one of the few original spec 330 GTs left on the planet! I hope you get what you're shooting for.

I was assuming the OP was referring to 10181 which is listed in the Monterey RM auction. It has been Argento/nero throughout its history.

Perhaps I'm mistaken because the name on the auction is not Carlo.

5701 must have sold or gone to auction. It’s no longer listed on Motorland’s website.
