It appears when tapping the gas pedal the revs do not jump quickly when I downshift the 550 and attempt to bring the revs up. I find it difficult to bring the revs up. My 1.6L econobox dd revs easy when I downshift and bring up the speed of the engine.

I assume the 550 has some type of electrical non-conventional gas pedal. My 550 is serviced and runs nice. Tapping the gas pedal does almost nothing. The entire process is not easy and it requires effort to
    bring up the engine revs.

    Anyone else experience this ?

I have never pressed down aggressively on the pedal in neutral.

Start the car and wait for it to warm up. Drive away slowly and wait a while before driving briskly. I never run it aggressively in 1st, 2nd, and third gear.

I will try this weekend when I return home to the garage. Let me check neutral.

yes, of course , after it warms up.. the gas pedal goes to an Elect Control module, i don't think there's anything to be done with that,,
i assume the car accelerates normally otherwise
my car is in the shop, so i can;t tell you if there[s a mechanical adjustment, maybe someone can look it up in the WSM

I can drive it to the shop where it is serviced. No acceleration issue and no warning lights. Recently completed the annual.

550 uses 2 cables for the throttle, not electronics. There is adjustment for the cable that connects the pedal to the first throttle body, and adjustment for the cable that connects the 2 throttle bodies. I find my throttle gets stiff over time, and replacing the cable that connects LH and RH throttle bodies completely changes the throttle feel, much lighter and more responsive, so much so I have to retrain my mind to shift smoothly again.

Agree with the above… the 550 should be super easy to rev match when downshifting - very responsive throttle. Seems like some tweaking or cleaning gunk from the throttle cables is in order.

    Good luck!

    Ciao Ruben

Almost impossible! I have to stomp the pedal to the floor. Off the charts effort and I never understood why. The acceleration effort is easy and the car loves to fly.

Good news. My daughter’s B.F. is a talented car enthusiast who knows how to work on cars and is working on his masters in engineering. I will ask for help. If he can fix the cable great. If not Eurospares.

Car had a major in 2018 (PO) (Boardwalk went cheap by not changing out a gasket), another major in 2020 by an independent marque specialist and an annual in 21. Surprised the cable was not addressed. My Kia Rio 1.6L is much more responsive on the downshifts. I prefer a stiff clutch. Thanks Ralph
